Why the powerlifter hate?

I'm a tourist and I've noticed a lot of people here seem to hate powerlifters, why is that?
The only reason I've seen is that many of them are fat, but there's also a lot of powerlifters that are in good shape too.

If anything, I see more seething from powershitters. I’m only 190 and still have a 3pl8 bench, 4pl8 squat, 5pl8 DL and almost 2pl8 OHP. Yet I still look aesthetic at 12% BF, and have decent cardio

Most powershitters I’ve seen have barely better numbers than me, and they weigh about 100 pounds more than me. Plus they can’t run or do anything other than their 3 lifts. Sure, in pure compounds they might be stronger (not even by much), but what’s the point when you’re just fat?

Powershitters deserve to be lumped in with FPH

There's seething both ways, smaller aesthetics guys who don't eat enough to get past ottermode act very insecure a lot of the time but so do the lardasses.

Why go to the gym to get healthier when you can do the total opposite and eat yourself into diabetes, high blood pressure, and a broken body.

Even talking to that one powershitter with the eyeballs popping out of his head. His only goal in life was to get stronger, and that he's going to keep going until he breaks his body.

That's not remarkable. It's not inspiring. It's not admirable. It's just Ronnie Coleman all over again. In the pursuit of numbers you lose it all and put yourself in a wheelchair. And because you're natty you look like dogs hit.

For 99% of ISTizen, "making it" implies a pic related body - ascended ottermode (80-90% natty peak, 101-12% bodyfat).

said. Lifting for health and mobility + moderate intensity, low impact cardio probably has the greatest payoff relative to potential risk in terms of health and longevity. Im just a guy though, not an expert

I know you were messing around but I've been thinking lately about what the best personalized fitness regimen would be for me. I could say trying different things out and seeing what sticks but I've already done that. I just like a lot of people online who discuss fitness won't ever excel in the big leagues of any sport so I just want to do my own thing, the question is, what does that entail. I've tried different programs for powerlifting bodybuilding calisthenics I'm just wondering how to combine it all into one.

                >I'm just wondering how to combine it all into one.
You can't really do that in a way that provides meaningful progress, at least as a natty. If you end up trying to train powerlifting and bodybuilding at the same time you're more than likely going to just burn yourself out and end up failing at both. What you're looking for is just a plain old generalized strength training program with calisthenics for accessory work; that would be plenty. Just do Starting Strength and add on whatever calisthenics exercises you want until you plateau and stop progressing. If you keep obsessing over a "perfect program" that has everything you want you'll just end up spending all your time thinking and dreaming instead of training

Well I did powerlifting and bodybuilding and powerbuilding programs just to try them out and so I can say I did them. I was thinking about crossfit but I'm not sure about that one. Talking to older people who used to work out, I know that what I'm looking for was once popular before all the modern noise existed. You know, just lifting weights and getting stronger, maybe getting more jacked, healthier heart. Get the endorphins going. Nowadays everything is categorized and it can confuse people.

I don't like a lot of what powerlifting culture stands for. It plays host to a lot of health issues, mainly heart ones. It's all about being "STRONG" and they obsess over that so much it's like they have something to prove. They eat like fat slobs and lift heavy with questionable form while abusing their heart and taking it for granted. There's just nothing there that I see that is positive for health and fitness.

Same reason everyone hates seeing proper obese guys larping with guns and talking about militias
Everyone knows if it comes down to it that fatties can’t do shit. They can’t wipe their arse, walk a flight of stairs, or survive any sort of semi organised warfare
Also their “sport” encourages doing lifts in the shittiest way possible

  21. 1 year ago
    Anonymous

    A. because many of them are fatty
    B. because their sport has stupid lifts that encourage people to do them with 1-2in range of motion, compared to oly lifters who universally fling the weight above their head, or strongmen, who do feats that would be expected of a strong man.
    C. "power" lifting is a stupid name for a sport that is more akin to forklifting.
