Why the shit are DEXA scans so fricking expensive?? cheapest I find in my area is literally 150$.
What the actual FRICK I just want to see my body fat% and not with manual caliper bullshit that I could easily frick up week to week and get bad results, I want DEXA accurate results FRICK
$150 is expensive you broke b***h?
Yes
I offer nothing and demand more
Quick rundown on what the frick I'm looking at?
Old russian man discovered dead with homemade sex doll.
It is very expensive. Being poor doesn't make you a b***h, at least not in any legitimate sense.
Congrats. Your results now are about equivalent accuracy to a modern bioimpedance scale you can buy for about the same price as one of those scans.
>Your results now are about equivalent accuracy to a modern bioimpedance scale
A 20$ Amazon bio scale isn't going to give you accurate results
>UHHH HERE'S THIS 90$ SCALE INSTEAD ANON
At that point you just bought the DEXA scan.
Yes but you can actually use the bioimpedance scale again, track your progress, etc. All of these methods used to measure body fat have a problem with getting accuracy, even DEXA can be 3-4% off. People think that because they're paying money for it or doing all that gimmicky underwater shit it must be some Ultimate truth of body fat when that's not the case at all - save your money.
seems like a more accurate resource than a scale and you can use it as a better barometer of progress if you do a cut or bulk. I'd argue that's objectively worth it to someone who is serious about said progress. nothing wrong with it
those bioimpedance scales just send all of your data to China and datamine how fat the average american is
Lol just fast if you think you're fat
You're fricking moronic if you need a machine to tell you that.
I just did a Dexa. It was $99 for 2 scans. One now and a future scan sometime within the next 12 months. So $50/ea
how? what clinic
>240lb
>14% BF
Jesus post fricking body
Mass monster
impressive mogging stats for an old man
If you need to check body fat, it's too high
You have a trained technician position you on a piece of medical imaging equipment that uses precision X-rays beamed in at two different energy levels through your fat-ass with an incredibly precise sensor to measure the radiation of each set of X-rays and then the information is assembled via a computer with proprietary software into an image and readout of your body.
In what bizarro world is $150 expensive for that? How much do you think you could make a DEXA machine for? How much do you think a DEXA machine costs?
Fricking communists think they're entitled to all sorts of horseshit just because it exists.
>Literally 3 nobel prizes translate into hundred thousand dollar pieces of equipment
>"HUNDRED FIFTY DOLLA?? HOLY SHEEEEEET DAT TOO EXPENSIVE. GIMMEE DAT SHIT FREEE
OP
>needs a machine to tell him his bf
Dude just go by eyeballin in the mirror
>got lovehandles lose weight
>happy with how you look maintane
Its not fricking rocket science theres no need for you to know your exact bf unless youre doing pro boxing
>DEXA scans
Seen a video about this were one youtuber went to several different companies and was given widely differing results.
They're not as accurate as they purport to be
The navy's most recent (modernized) body fat study gave them a new formula to give them a closer to their DEXA scans. They didn't want to use it because it actually made majority of their reserves to fat and such.
>%BF = 3.020 + 131.637 [log(umbilicus circumference)] + {-100.299 [log(height)]}
New formula. (umbilicus is circumference around bellybutton)
>%BF = 47.016 + 87.567 [log(circumference value)] + {-74.901 [log(height)]}
Old navy formula for comparison.

Ok is there a calculator for this? Ican't into math
New one, no.
You can do this yourself if you input into any scientific calculator. Even a monkey can press a matching buttons in a pattern, I'm sure you can too.
What are the units in? cm?
inches
>CONSOOOMERS in this thread honestly thinking that's a fair price for an advance caliper test
Fricking lmao IST, never change
