Why would I want to get good at deadlifts if I'm not a powerlifter?
Who says which variation are the real deadlifts? Fat dyel manlet powerlifters like Rippetoad?
Btw, trap bar deadlift is closer to a car deadlift with handles
Trap bar deadlifts are a cope for people too weak to do real deadlifts. There's a reason no strength sport uses them.
Honestly, trap bar with upper handles is a meme, i can usually pull 25% more than on barbell, and the last time i did lower handles i snapped my fricking back and took a mandatory 2 month break
ok this thread has me wondering whether I should get a trapbar. I was kinda priding myself on just using a barbell and no other fancy gimmicky things like a buffalo bar or safety squat bar but maybe trap bar would be worth it since I just fricking wreck my back like once a month deadlifting >inb4 learn form
I know the form just fine, bar is always over mid foot, my proportions are just awkward so that it's basically impossible for me to reach the bar with my lower back neutral and bar over midfoot.
Trap bars are the way to go. You can work spinal erectors and hamstrings with weighted hyperextensions. Anyone who says otherwise is ignorant or coping
No don’t get it. You’ll need to buy a bunch more weights since you’ll be able to do more weights. If you don’t mind buying at least 6 more pl8 sure go for it.

doesn't that just mean I'll be able to use more muscle mass in the lifts? isn't that a good thing, apart from the money?
>my proportions are just awkward so that it's basically impossible for me to reach the bar with my lower back neutral and bar over midfoot.
no you havent worked on your mobility enough to do the movement properly and want to take a shortcut instead
if thats what you want its fine, not everyone has to be RAW PURE POWER MEGAFRICK - BLEEDING HANDS CHALK IN EYES - TOP LIFT but dont pretend you wanting to get a trap bar is anything other than "normal deadlifts are annoying I dont want to deal with this effort"
>muh mobility
b***h I'm 6'4" and I have massive femurs and short arms. There is absolutely no way for me to keep the bar over midfoot and keep my lower back completely neutral. I've experimented with different stance widths and different toe angles, the fact is, I can't bend enough at the hips to reach the bar without also bending my lumbar a little, not because my glutes are too tight, but because there's only so far you can close your hips because of how bones work. It doesn't matter how flexible you are, it's just not possible. You as a midget get to have the bar way higher off the ground relative to your body because your tibia/fibula are shorter. You're literally not doing the same lift as me. Me deadlifting is like you doing a 3" deficit deadlift. Let me know how that goes for you.

It has a ton of carryover, it is more like an actual deadlift than a sumo deadlift is.
It's just if your main weakness in getting your deadlift up is your lower back than it hits your lower back a bit less so it's suboptimal. But overall the trap bar deadlift is a lot safer since regular straight bar deadlifts pull your back always forward putting a lot more stress on the spine and making proper posture harder.
Because this has zero carry over to real deadlifts.
To add: it kind of skips the awkward phase the conventional deadlift has where you get 1-2 inches of the ground purely through some momentum from your knees. It feels a lot better because of this.
ehhh i just keep my shit simple. Barbell squat, barbell deadlift, barbell bench. Overhead press.
I dont wanna throw more unnecessary tools in my shed. I'm not saying the the trap bar is useless though, It definitely has its place in pulling exercises.

So there's no reason to. Thanks

Oh so its for ego? So there's no reason then. Thanks
>There's a reason no strength sport uses them.
Strongmen do frame deadlifts which are pretty much the exact same movement as trapbar deads.
>Doesn't even have good form
don't care
good enough form is good enough
Absolute unit

I only do trap bar
Great obliques. Does trap work the sides more
this homie wearing stockings
>b-but fashion!
Form over function homosexual
>Form over function homosexual
You stupid frick, fat people clothing is the definition of function over form. How does this prove stockings aren't okay
Do brainlifts until failure
Regular deadlifts are a cope for people whose quads aren't strong enough for trap bar deadlifts

Bruh, there have been tons of studies on this shit. It's closer to a standard deadlift than a sumo deadlift is to a standard deadlift.
>muh studies
go back to plebbit

contrary to white Black person ?
contrary to any kind of Black person
The deadlift is primarily for spinal erectors, not the hip hinge. Absolutely moronic study choice
lole
>spinal erectors pull half a ton from the floor
moron

Same weight
Is trap bar deadlift a good quad builder?
more like hamstrings and glutes. But i guess it does work the quads to an extent.
sure but you should just squat instead
There's a reason actual athletes do hex bar deadlifts over regular ones.
ok what's the reason?
I will have nothing to do with traps
Because "trap bar" sounds like a place where I go to drink spirits and hook up with trannies and not a thing I lift
To be able to pick heavy things up off the ground without training wheels
>Why would I frick women when MEN exist, Chud
Lmao gay
so i can blow out my back, get addicted to pain meds, lose my job and home, and suck wieners under a bridge to afford one meal a day.
Answer the question "why would I barbell deadlift when squats exist" before you ask this. The answer is the same.
>It's another moron that don't do deadlift variations shit on deadlifts while morons that don't deadlift seethe about it episode

>he doesn't know about the double barbell deadlift
>manlet doing dumbbell deadlift
Because you want a higher likelihood of injuring yourself with no increase in gains or strength
