Track your macros and your weight daily.
Restrict carbs, particularly the simple carbs. You really want to keep insulin from spiking, insulin has a huge effect on weightloss/bodyfat. Amount of carbs per day is going to vary person to person and dependent on your activity level.
I really like intermittent fasting, start at 8/16 and get it down to at least 4/20, it makes weight loss less complicated and you don't have to autistically track calories like CICO.
There isn't a one a size fits all, if you aren't losing weight week over week, start trimming carbs down and if carbs are really low (less than 50g a day), start trimming down fat. Biggest thing is to roughly track what your eating and your weight so you have the info of what works and what doesn't.
