womemes do pilates because they specifically dont want to become "bulky" (which they swear will easily happen if they start lifting)

this, women are delusional about how fast you build muscle lifting weights, they think most movie stars have "natural" bodies and they think guys like the Rock work out three times a week.

Most men think this too. The amount of morons is see who think someone like the Rock is natty blows me away. Their brains are rotten from too much media and not enough reality

it's assisted yoga, more or less.
It was invented by a schizoid grifter (whose surname was literally Pilates; the word doesn't mean anything, it's named after a guy) that was into assorted Woo bullshit

No. It is geared specifically towards strengthening female specific anatomy.

The goals for pilates are different than typical strength training. I'd say it's a cross between yoga and calisthenics. Lots of crunches/plank/leg raise/glute bridge type movements with an equal focus on mobility and stretching. It's honestly not the worst thing, especially for postpartum women since it can help them regain strength in the pelvic floor/heal diastasis recti. It won't give any huge gains. But most women aren't looking for that anyway, they want to be the sexy cute pilates princess with their stanley cup, french manicure and lululemon strawberry pink workout set

it's the status symbol of being a "pilates princess" and part of the complicated way women establish hierarchy.

honestly i can see the benefit in this –i dont really know what it is but it looks like dynamic stretching with resistance...i've been meaning to try it out to see what the deal is

The main thing women focus on is weight loss and flexibility. This is because the more flexible a woman is the harder she can get fricked by a man in a variety of positions.

95% of what women do is just to improve the chances of men approaching them and fricking them, they don't really do anything else

It's often an excuse to just socialise and pretend your working out. It's basically just stretching. One of my girlfriends did it and she was one of the least fit of my ex's. My mother does it and shes 60 something.

    It's hardly producing athletes op.

Why can't men have a meme routine to pretend like they're getting fit without any hard work?
