YOGA GAINS

Has anyone here tried doing yoga consistently? I heard it's a hell of a workout and brings great mobility gains. Thoughts?

    >hell of a workout
It's not when compared with any other type of workout.

    >and brings great mobility gains
Only the stretching, which you can do by itself without having to call it yoga.

Just stretch and do isometrics. Congrats it's fricking yoga. It won't hurt you to do it but better off with active recovery that targets your specific training needs. Less fartsniffer BS that way also

I don't see yoga like that. Respect women...

      >How Coomers/Incels see Yoga.

Nah man, I seriously see it as awesome displays of flexibility or whatever. Ever since I started working out seriously and trying my best to master perfect textbook-form with certain exercises (frickin' ATG Squats), I look at flexible motherfricker with envy.

      Based

Imagine being the porn addict coomer fricking cumbrained moron who made this and thinking
      >"haha people are gonna love this"
Same coomer who would stand in the corner of the gym with a towel covering himself jacking it watching women squat

Its alright cardio at most, its good for flexibility if you're not doing meme shit and actually pushing yourself like any other "workout". You're not going to get any strength gains though, and it won't really burn any calories.

I've been doing it for a few weeks now and find there's a lot of shoulder and leg strengthening to be had from long holds in variations on downward dog, chair pose, half moon, warrior 3, etc. I was at 1/2/3/4 and the yoga gains are mostly flexibility for me but I have felt soreness after holding the aforementioned poses for extended periods of time. (strong and slow yoga is better than flow Imo for balance and strengthening)

It's great. Go to your local yoga studio, they usually offer a free week deal or relatively cheap for beginners.

    >Go as far as you can go
    >Don't over stretch during the session
    >find what feels good
    >Practice at home with yoga with adriene on youtube
    >Yoga is breath work as well, so try breathing through your nose once in a while
    >try different forms of yoga
    >No one cares that you're a guy in yoga class.
    >everyones occupied with themselves to care about what you wear, how your posing, etc.
    >introduce yourself to the instructor and let him/her know it's your first time, they'll love to help you out and make sure you're doing the moves right.
    >don't be a frickin autistic weirdo and youll be fine.

Yoga was originally conceived as a way to build endurance of discomfort for long meditations on the path to enlightenment and nirvana. The modern yoga you see has been co-opted into something the only utility of which is building endurance of discomfort for getting fricked in interesting positions. Practice yoga if getting fricked interests you.

    Seriously makes a huge difference:
    >since starting yoga back pain I had from being a sedentary teenager is gone entirely
    >various tight spots that sometimes caused issues and were particularly sore in some poses when I started are gone
    >DOMS passes way faster after some yoga
    >you feel so nicely wrung out after a heavy session
    >good yoga teachers who have been in it for a long time are a textbook of ways to address weird injuries/problem areas
Plus realistically you won't be lifting heavy at 80-90 if you make it there, even if you still do, meanwhile Yoga is entirely doable at that age.

Doing anything but being a fat sedentary piece of shit would have fixed your back pain.

Not true at all. If you take up running for instance it isn’t going to solve your back pain and if you aren’t lucky you’ll pick up a bunch of new muscle imbalances which will grant you all new sources of pain like knee pain, hip pain, foot pain, and even shin pain. “Doing anything” won’t cut it unless you’re still a teenage kid.

          Yeah "active"
People work at pizza shops and tell me they're "active" because they pick up 10kg of flour.
