Unironically I have done this, cold showers and working my way on enduring my gym's sauna (180°). Started at 5 min last week. At 10 min twice a day. Also switched up my routine. Doing PPLx2 and instead of doing all in one workout (would take 1 1/2 hours) I'm doing them seperately, so the rest can peak.
I've done this about 2 weeks and atarting my third a d it was a gradual ramp up but the last week has been phenomenal. Much better mood and focus. Workouts aren't nearly as taxing and much easier to stay on my diet.
I say try it out yourself. The sun thing in particular has helped, but as an aggregate all the tipa he's given have been somewhat effective. It could be placebo, but seeing I'm not supplementing with anything other tham protein I don't see how that really could be. We'll see in a few months I suppose.
The sunlight thing has helped me phenomenally.
I've had a fucked circadian rhythm and bad insomnia for pretty much my whole life and I had no idea how much I owed that to looking down at my phone in the mornings instead of viewing sunlight.
Trying to get on intermittent fasting and OMAD to finally lose weight that's been troubling me for years. Hoping sun exposure and walks throughout the day help me stop boredom-eating and keeps me productive
I've done both and be careful because binge eating became a thing after I started fasting poorly. Meaning that I didn't really have a healthy diet in place to begin with. I also would do a ton of cardio in the form of Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for two hour sessions, multiple times a week, many a time either on intermittent fasting or in a 24 hour fasted state. I did drop the pounds, but I also started to eat big and heavy meals.
Now, I did drop a ton of weight, as in 20 pounds in less than three months, probably closer to two. I tried to lose a bit more, but I've yo-yo'd and since settled on that original 20 I lost originally.
The point is be sure to have a healthy diet in place before you even try fasting is my recommendation. Fasting is a solution, but it can lead to binging and if you don't have a healthy diet you are really treating the symptom and not the disease.
I don't know if you saw but Huberman also has an extensive talk with a professor who focuses on nutrition and it's great. Goes into all the kinds of questions you may have on fasting, supplements and more.
Personally I think I will go back to intermittent fasting and then OMAD closer to the summer. But that's AFTER I get my diet in check and see how that goes after a few months.
>I don't know if you saw but Huberman also has an extensive talk with a professor who focuses on nutrition and it's great. Goes into all the kinds of questions you may have on fasting, supplements and more.
Can you remember the name of the professor or the episode?
>I've had a fucked circadian rhythm and bad insomnia for pretty much my whole life and I had no idea how much I owed that to looking down at my phone in the mornings instead of viewing sunlight
Same. 20 min with one of those sun lamps every morning and my circadian rhythm that was fucked for 10+ years is now stable. I fall asleep with relative ease at the same time every day and starting to wake up at the same time every day even without an alarm
Hubermann helped to push me to take the nicotine pill and get back on with cold showers. Showers especially helped me past a weight stall I had been having- been doing them mostly for increased will power and focus.
he isn't a neurologist or medical doctor
he is a professor (aka teaches undergrad students) of neurobiology
real doctor here - i have noticed him saying factually incorrect things on a few occasions
Neuroscientists know way more about the brain than neurosurgeons. Surgeons and doctors are respected because they are skilled enough to carry out life and death procedures on people and think on their feet, not because of the pointless MCAT facts they've memorized.
If you follow him on instagram he writes bullet points summaries.
The point of a long podcast isn't to be efficient with the content, it's to enjoy the discussion. If you're commuting or walking the dog or whatever you don't necessarily want the cliff notes.
Yeah this. you gays will crawl to the ends of the earth for some quick trick gains tip but don’t have the will to undo your dopamine burnout. Stop being so gay and sucking dick like a fag
>2023 >not waking up at 4-5am well before the sun is even up
shiggy
Seriously, as I get older I realise old farts have the right idea going to bed ridiculously early and getting up early
I literally will go several days without seeing the sun. I work the night shift. I make up for it with a regular exercise routine, eating healthy, and Vitamin D supplements though.
Low iq wikipedia citing tard. Hes a brainlet incapable of deep diving into topics. Hes literally talking about stuff that i was researching when i was 13 years old
Right, where are you working right now? Last time I check the dude worked as a researcher, a professor and also has a ton of experts aside from himself to learn about the topics many of the topics he touches on.
Before you cite appeal to authority also note he lists the research he cites in his podcasts for you to look over and freely shares the sources of what he is referencing too
you're pretty much correct but miejsce=place and miesiąc=month
nice i like the fact that i can kindof get somewhat close to what someone is saying, slavic languages are pretty cool in that way since we share a lot of the words even if spelled/pronounced differently
I love huberman, he redpilled me about alcohol and what absolute mindboggling disgusting devils poison that stuff is. Stopped drinking completely because of him. Never 1 drop again in my life. Fuck that stuff. Even drinking once on the weekend can fuck you up for the whole week and shrinks your brain, ONCE!!! ONCE A WEEK SHRINKS YOUR BRAIN AND I DRANK DAILY I'M STILL FUCKED AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
why 20 minutes? I've been leaving my phone across my room so I'm forced to get up to turn the alarm off, then raising the blind straight away so I don't just go back to bed.
J
O
It’s always dark and raining
>skipped torso day again
I live in Canada so the sun doesn't rise until like three hours after I wake this time of year. Won't have morning sun for a few months yet.
similar situation. I've wondered about getting a UVA/UVB lamp/light but idk if that can fully replicate the sun.
I live in the dark half the year too. Get a beuer sunlight therapy lamp. 20 minutes every morning works amazingly
sleep in 3 extra hours

Jealous of his success and side hustle. Come back to IST when you've achieved as much and talk smack then.

I wake up before 5 to work my side business- should I go stare at an LED streetlamp instead?
You're not supposed to stare directly into those lamps. Just have it 20cm away from your face while you do other things like read or eat
I am white, sorry
His sleep supplement suggestions helped me sleep 8 full hours so im grateful for that
