It doesn’t though. If anything, it’s probably good for your brain.

    >pre-covid I could get 300g of creatine for 7 bucks
    >anno domini 2024 300g is ~25 bucks
It will hit a point of me needing to be a millionaire to even try that.
It's cheaper to just start roiding atp

My yearly labs came back with high creatinine and my doc told me to stop taking creatine so I can get tested again to make sure my kidneys are working. Doesn't just lifting weights by itself raise creatinine too, though? What am i supposed to do, stop lifting for weeks every time I go to my checkup?

basically... depends what the number is. I had 1.35 or something and retested myself a few months later and it was down to 1.24. I think I'd worked out hard before the first test. Still taking creatine. It's not the best marker for people with more lean body mass anyways. need a c reactive protein test instead

your doc is a moron and creatinine tests are shit and don't account for people who have packed on extra muscle mass

Thanks, that's what I thought. Didn't know about the c-reactive protein test. I guess if my numbers are still high after creatine cessation, ill ask about that. Creatine came back at 1.5 mg/dL this time.

I got my dad back into creatine (66 year old boomer) and even he felt the gains instantly. No excuse to not be on it. I take 5 a day.
