Correct. You need a whopping 10 grams a day. Which equates to a jaw-dropping 90 calories.

Meanwhile, your average candy bar will double that. A 300g ribeye steak will provide 60 grams, comparatively.

Would you say that an optimal diet should have literally zero fat, or just not an unreasonable amount? I'm not a dietitian so I genuinely don't know, but I would think the standard 40% protein, 40% carbs, 20% fat is fairly agreed upon. Not appealing to authority, I just tend to think extremes like keto, vegan, carnivore, socialist, anarcho capitalist, or now zero fat which I've never heard of before are generally pretty dumb/reactionary

It's not possible to have a "zero fat" diet, as all foods have some fat in them, even fruits. Low fat vegan diets are about 10% fat and they are filled with fruits, vegetables, and whole grains.

you know stuff like thermic effect of food. eating a lot in one day will make you less hungry in next day. overeating also increases physical activity. you know fidgeting and rhe whole thing about sugar making kids hyper. it os mostly broken in fat people tho. lipogenesis is overrated as source of body fat. it peaks when fat is below 15% calories. you make around 15 grams of fat from glucose then. on low fat diet you ingest like 20 to 40 grams of fat. it is low enough to burn excess during overnight fast once liver glycogen gets low and during daytime very low grade fatty acid oxidation. only reason to eat meat is for more muscle and to grow taller. there is no real benefot past that.

Because a lot of fruit has fat in it, especially shit like avocados. It's actually extremely rare to get rabbit starvation because it's hard to eat a diet with low enough fat content to trigger it. You have to be intentionally trying to get it or be in some actual starvation scenario.

Basically what happens is that your body has to start syntehsizing energy molecules from proteins and it causes ammonias to release into the bloodstream. Too much of this will fuck up your kidneys hardcore and kill you from kidney failure, along with raping your liver.

Personally chose carbs+protein, staying under 20-30g of fat a day, and then on the weekends is when I go easy on the carbs and eat more fat (that comes mainly from things like liver, ice cream, pork grinds, or just a simple burger).

Lost 14lb since mid april doing this.

The lie that saturated fat is bad and pufas are good tricks people into eating plant oils instead of animal fats.

Vegans, like all leftists, will say anything to get people to do what they want. They are like robots that tell lies. Not conscious liars, but biological demons programmed by evolution to decieve.

Crazy how people think heart disease is 100% about diet... or else that it is preventable by cutting carbs and seed oils. The plaque deposits in your arteries and heart are actually caused by the very same bacteria found in your mouth, which cause the same plaque on your teeth. This is the reason why oral piercings increase your risk of heart disease--- they create an entryway into your bloodstream for these bacteria. Just pointing out that there are risk factors you can't control by diet and exercise. There are also all sorts of genetic factors like high cholesterol, for example, which is NOT caused by dietary cholesterol but rather by an individual's personal predisposition to convert saturated fats into cholesterol in the liver. The dude in OP pic could easily be wrecking his cardiovascular system simply by the amount of meat or other sources of saturated fat he eats

You can also be a vegan without getting heart disease like americans who aren't vegan. Why is it that vegans have the lowest BMI of all americans(seventh day adventists) and the lowest heart disease rate.

                >Fat is an essential macronutrient
Correct. You need a whopping 10 grams a day. Which equates to a jaw-dropping 90 calories.

Meanwhile, your average candy bar will double that. A 300g ribeye steak will provide 60 grams, comparatively.

I will also state that a fat deficiency is the very least likely deficiency in the West. Considering 78% of the population is obese or overweight.

Has been for at least 30 years by now ever since Ornish showed you can indeed reverse heart disease by cutting out fat and meat from diet. To my knowledge that hasn't been replicated by just cutting out fat but leaving meat. Meat and dairy recommendation in mainstream omnis nutrition science is to keep it moderate. Outside keto quackery, nobody is recommending people to increase fat and meat consumption. True.

It's not that contentious. Everybody agrees its consumption should be limited, just not on how much. All evidence points to full elimination because the amino acid balance of animal protein is suboptimal for humans. I'm not fully in camp vegan on that solely because it's really good every now and then. I know, mostly because maillard effect, but still.

After being on the keto bandwagon for 6 months, and despite losing 40lbs on this diet, I'm starting to agree more and more with vegan talking points. I'm not some kind of ethical moron, I don't give a fuck if animals die to feed me, but with all the hormones and shit in meat and animal products it seems like a smart idea to avoid them. And it really seems too that a high carb vegan diet provides the body with cleaner energy. Primates that we evolved from are mostly herbivores, and we only developed the ability to eat meat as a last resort in desperate situations.

I'm not fully vegan yet, because my family still like to cook lean meats like fish and chicken often that I can't resist, but I try and have a high carb low fat breakfast consisting of fruits and hot cereal like buckwheat or oats, and the increase in energy and effort in my reps has been amazing. I leave proteins and fats latter in the day for recovery.

Its all about hormone balance, and there's less shit that can fuck with your hormones in a bad way on vegan.

You may be reluctant to examine the boring scientific evidence for why seed oils are toxic, but I promise that you won’t need a PhD. Simply watch this video on how canola oil is made, produced by the same industry that wants you to consume more of it. By granting a film crew access to their factory, they actually thought this video would impress you with their product.

You just saw an industrial process to transform waste into “food” using noxious chemicals and high heat. If you watched this video and see nothing wrong with canola oil and how it is heavily processed from a disgusting brown sludge, there is no amount of science I can present to you that will convince you to stop eating industrial waste.
This process uses bleach, lye, and hexane to transform an inedible product into a low-grade toxin that may not kill you immediately, but which causes long-term health problems.

Basedbean oil and all other seed oils must be processed in the same industrial manner because of the tiny amount of oil encapsulated in each tough little seed. Only a factory method using volatile chemicals is able to extract enough of that oil to make it lucrative for the extractor. Compare that to how extra virgin olive oil is naturally made:

Further, elevated cholesterol hasn't been seen as a cause of heart disease for decades. Cholesterol is a warning mechanism and your body's way of making arterial plaques "safe".

The plaque is made mostly of fat. The fat remains in the arteries and causes atherosclerosis. An actual heart attack is triggered by oxidative stress (inflammation), which weakens the cholesterol-lined endothelium, allowing the fat to break off and clog an artery, preventing blood flow.

Are you just pretending to be stupid? You better not be.

If you're speaking of store bought butter, yes some brands mix in vegetable oils to "make it spreadable" but if you aren't retarded and can read labels or literally take a mason jar and just shake cream for a couple minutes you get straight butter. You have to wash the butter in cold water to remove the milk from it so it doesn't sour and adding salt will make it shelf stable at room temperature.

2/10 for making me reply to this stupidity.

None of you have ever made butter. You've made what's lovingly called "American butter." Are you just mad that you've never had real butter or something?
Butter, everywhere else in the world, is made by churning sour cream. You should try it:
        >Add 1dl of (real) buttermilk to 1l of 38% (or higher) cream
        >Let it sit at room temperature until it gets nice and thick. It can take 1-2 days depending on temperature.
        >Put the now sour cream in the fridge to cool it down to at least 10-ish°C.
        >Beat the sour cream until it separates into butter and buttermilk.
Congratulations, you've made real butter. The difference in flavor to American butter is astonishing.
Save 1dl of the buttermilk, either in the fridge or freezer depending on when you want to make more, for the next batch and drink the rest. If you want the butter to keep more than a few days you can wash it in cold water and add about 1% salt by weight to it.

                >diabetic complications from eating a high carb diet
No such thing. Sugars don't give diabetes. Such is why you don't find any chimps with diabetes in the wild.

Type 2 diabetes is a disease of gluttony, specifically mixing fats and sugar. Fats coat the cell membrane, insulin can no longer effectively shuttle in glucose for ATP, causing elevated blood sugar levels.

This has been talked about endlessly in the literature. It's not a big conspiracy, it's not a secret, it's not really even controversial.

It's only a matter of people don't want to change their diets, filled with butter, cheeses, avocados, cooking oils, and a bunch of other bullshit. This includes IST.

                >another thread filled with meatheads and vegans throwing their anecdotal evidence and social media posts
wow, amazing. When in reality both are valid (regarding health) if done right. The best health outcomes across the board are for plant-based whole foods vegans. This includes comparisons to healthy, athletic, "clean" eating "omnis". I could post literally thousands of studies ITT right now, I have dozens of times in the past.

Inevitably, anons completely ignore them or dismiss them all as "propaganda" without reading them. That's because you're a monkey and me posting the studies triggers an emotional shutdown of your reasoning via cognitive dissonance.

I'm vegan and I avoid seed oils like the plague. Literally no reason to consume that crap. I get my fat from whole foods. You are always better off eating a natural food like butter than eating a fucking industrial solvent or some goyslop based on it, I just wish butter was made in a more sustainable and ethical way because I cannot support the industry as it currently is.

I want to know, in earnest, what it is you have a problem with. The cows on the farm where I buy my milk are happy, healthy, and free roaming.

Well good job on going further than 99.9% of people do and actually giving a fuck. The problem is how rare that is, and how fucked up most of the industry is. I also gurantee that in order to compete with the rest of the psycho industry, even decent farmers have to cut corners in how well they take care of their cows sometimes. Maybe they get a bit of soi to supplement the grass, maybe they live a bit tighter, etc. At the very least, the calf is inevitably seperated from the mother and denied her milk, the cow is forcefully impregnated, and it's killed for food as soon as its milk production starts to decrease. I know some good farmers doing their damned best to take care of the animals, but they are like 1 in a 1000, and their milk costs three times as much minimum. I'd have no problem with milk or butter if we could actually do it in a decent way, doesn't have to be perfect or anything just not like today. Probably at some point I'm just gonna get my own goat or something...

I just wanted some raw jersey milk and he was the closest farmer. My impression is that his is a very average farm.
First off, they all get extra feed in addition to the grass. If they haven't eaten enough they get feed packets (usually grain but can also be human-inedible stuff). I can all but guarantee that his cows get slaughtered when they get too old to produce milk. He just had calves recently and they were immediately separated from their mothers (by a fence, they're still literally right next to each other), but he filters out their colostrum and gives it to the baby cows. They're cute as hell by the way. I assume he's selling them to farms that raise cows for meat, or maybe they're being sold for veal. Either way, they're being treated very well and have plenty of space. I obviously don't have a problem with killing animals for food but I can tell it's a big one for you. All that really matters to me is that the animal is treated well while it's alive.
His milk is more expensive than standard milk but that's just because it's jersey milk. Milk is priced by the cream content and his contains about 6% (standard is 4%).
While the cows are on the farm they get to roam free and just chill. They're also constantly monitored for any health problems as it would result in tainted milk and thus lost profit.

Sounds a lot better than most commercial places, but not up to my ethic standards since I am opposed strongly to the killing of animals for food. I don't accept the "well I treated it nicely BEFORE I murdered it!" defense for the very same reason that I suspect you would not accept it of a human (though I accept that most people do not reason like I do). They should IMO be kept as beloved pets that also happen to provide a tasty treat now and again, but that's a pipe dream. Like I said probably I'll wind up getting my own goat and a few chickens or something.

Vegans compare whole foods plant-based with the Standard American Diet to make veganism seem good; anti-vegans compare fast-food veganism to a balanced omni diet to make veganism look bad. In reality, 90% of us could all agree on the SAD being shit and industrial slaughter being unethical.

Another veganfag here. I don't even do it for the moral or ethical reasons associated with it in regards to animal cruelty and shit, even though there's some aspects of that. I simply hate gnomish corporations, and love nature and wish to be anprim mode. Even the best commercial farmer on the planet is an economic drain to the entire country, and garden gnomes hinself to Tyson Foods or some other conglomerate, while polluting any running water source in a 50 mile radius. I still hunt and kill animals on occasions, and very occassionally get milk and stuff from homesteaders and the like, but I don't pretend that I have the time and means to live such a lifestyle 24/7. I hated the sheer cognitive dissonance of constantly saying "I'm gonna own 5 chickens and a goat one day and get my based meat from perfect sources!" When 90% of the time that isn't even remotely feasible to do if you aren't a lying piece of shit retard larper. Especially if you're an Amerilard like I am. You ever actually try to get the hook up with non-gnomish homesteaders in places like Oklahoma? Most of the bitches here hermit up on their property so much you'll never even meet another human even if you tried, except for the ones calling to cops for invading private property (all of the property). Living in urban areas, you have to make 2 hour dedicated drives just to buy more expensive products that might still be flooded with hormones because who the fuck can even guarantee anything. It's ultimately just luck that you'll know someone raising animals as a hobby, and happen to be close enough to them to get a bit of their excess they give away as gifts.

I wanted to be a joe rogan retard making my own food and shit, because I despise corporate gnomish claws in the US, and the food industry is one of the worst. Just happened to see veganism as the closest alternative to my means, to remove the cognitive dissonance in my life and living a lifestyle as close to that as I could (within my means)

I think, owing to being from Denmark, we have vastly different agricultural infrastructure. Most if the horrible shit that goes on in America has always been illegal here.
I live in the countryside, surrounded by fields and forest. I get my meat from a local slaughterhouse/butcher. I get my eggs from a small farm and they're garden gnomeed by no one. I get my milk from a medium-sized farm who's garden gnomeed to Arla but Arla is a collectively owned by ~9500 farmers. I know the people running all of these places and I trust the product they put out because of it. My gf and I drive around for a few hours once a week to get groceries from these places. Surrounded by nature the whole time it's really more of a pleasant break from work than a chore.
Would that be good enough for you?

No they aren't? The main ingredients are like pea protein, textured vegetable protein, and marmite. Oils are only used to add fake shitty little fat chunks and increase fat content. Hell, you could make this shit yourself without any oils if you wanted to. What's the point in blatantly and intentionally saying false shit to ruin your own platform when you already have a decent enough foundation?
