        Disagree slightly.
        If you training purely for aesthetics bulgarians are a very bad exercise in terms of recovery for stimulus, assuming you are doing them using the full ROM(knee touches ground) and not using excessive forward lean to prevent hip flexor stretch(which is the most important part for actual athletes). If you only care about leg size even a simple reverse lunge serves you better.
        That said for athletes I agree completely this exercise is irreplaceable, ROM is unmatched and will develop stabilizer muscles and hip flexors really well.

          - SS as a starting program only makes sense for 12-13 year olds who are fairly active. For the rest of the people you are entering the gym with medium-high muscle imbalances and mobility restrictions, which will only blow up under compound only training. Beginners need more unilaterals than medium people.
          - Lifting(and basically everything else) is determined mostly by puberty period. During puberty body will behave in a Lysenkoist style: If you have good food, good activity levels you will absolutely mog everyone by 16-17, intelligence and looks wise. Malnourishment and lack of stimulation in this time cannot be solved after puberty ends. This is way more important than actual genetics.
          - Getting to 2 std to the right outcomes in most fields is a game against yourself, pvp aspect only comes after that. You can get there by explicitly competing with other people but most of the time you just need to stop doing stupid shit.
          - You can grow your dick with exercises but the ROI is horrible unless you are below average(Im talking below 15 cm length). 30 minute routines done for 5 days a week for a year will in best case scenario give you about an inch of length and half an inch of girth, which sounds insane but you are basically taking on another mini gym commitment.
          - Most advise about curing addiction is complete garbage because it suggests to replace the time with something completely useless. Quitting porn to read a fucking book is never going to work for 95% of people. The only way to reliably quit addictions is to forcefully put yourself in positions where you will seriously suffer if shit doesn't get done and simply not have the time to indulge.

      No evidence fasted cardio works. Wish it did cuz im happy to down a coffee and work out first thing in the morning. Fasting isn't exactly good for cuts either due to muscle loss, maybe good for a fatty priming for their first bulk. Recomp is an option for these people though and probably more sustainable.

It's impossible to ensure you do a perfectly safe movement 100% of the time, especially when you're tired, therefore the chances of injury are high.         Weight really doesn't matter tho, as long as technique is great and the weight is slowly going up. The most jacked guy at my gym, someone that could go on stage if he did an 8 week mini-cut any time and squats 4 plates at the same time, does his lateral raises with very strict big ROM form while only using 10kg aka 22lbs. The muscle doesn't know weight, it only knows mechanical tension placed on it. Which is also why for example front squats can grow the quads more with less weight.

      You need to "program hop" or whatever you want to call it to find the lifts that work the best for you.
      Someone invented the barbell so you can't sit around with this dogma that barbell lifts are "natural" and everything else is some pussy shit that actively gets rid of gains. It's fake masculinity to jerk off a barbell lift and I say that as a guy who obsessed over barbells only for 4 years.
      Programming besides the basic "ramping up" and "resting" phases are all made up commie shit that survives off selection bias. There's no routine that'll make every single person on the planet into a 1400lb totaller.
      "Bodybuilding" is the core of any strength sport. You don't get big and strong from 1 rep maxes, it's actually tons of boring, submax rep work. If your 3x5 is stunted it's not going to get unstuck by going down to 1x3 then 1x1. I tried it already, it doesn't work.
      You cannot "target muscle fiber types", they become fast twitch after a period of rest not from switching to sets of 3. This is confirmed with a twin study biopsy scan, which is the highest quality study humanly possible so it's a fact. You want fast twitch? Train a lot then rest.

    we’re simply not meant to lift this much.there’s gonna be lots of people with worn out joints and irreparable injuries in 10-20 years. Most people think they lift right but they don’t. Not necessarily by ego alone but by accident or just human error in doing a long term repetitive activity. I’m not saying lifting is the ultimate cause of the injury, but what the culture around lifting considers to be normal.       Lifting is generally a slow and controlled exercise. I've not met a single person who has lifelong injuries or joint problems from lifting. Worst comes to worst you get something minor from bad form and let it heal for a month

      Nearly everyone I've come across with joint problems fits in the following categories:
      - Traumatic work related usage (army paratrooper repeated doing jumps)
      - Traumatic Injuries from team sports
      - Traumatic injuries related to accidents (motor cycle accident, falling off ladders, etc.)

    The single most important thing to be fit is consistency. You will never make any gains if you only do real effort for 2-3 weeks, slack off another 2-3 weeks. It doesn't even require 100% effort 24/7 (leads to burnout no matter what tryhard gays say) but consistency is key.

    I really don't believe the human diet is as complicated as people make it out to be. I also believe most people make fitness more complicated than it has to be. You could replace most workouts with a single exercise like deadlifts or pushing a heavy sled around and you would still get better results than 99% of people exercising.     Lifting is fundamentally about understanding your own body. The machismo of lifting obscures the technical aspect, but the technical aspect is not particularly intellectual: you are trying to use your body a certain way, and to do that you need to understand what your body is doing, what it reacts to, what it needs, and where it fails.

    People hint at this when they talk about the importance of form but it goes beyond that. Form is talked about as if lifting mechanics are a general property, because everything is general. But it isn't: some things are, something aren't, and if you do things your body isn't mean to then you will get injured and fail.

    While all of this is happening your own mind is hindering or helping you, and you also need to figure out which is which, and how to train and extend that. Are you progressing too slowly out of fear of injury? Are you progressing too quickly, heading towards injury? Can you push through suffering safely, or is your body telling you to stop because you will get injured?

    You just use tools in fitness as a stimulus to get results. Barbells have managed to get a reddit-cult like following with the barbell power lifts even becoming meme-tier sports. But there's nothing magical about barbells, the main benefit is versatility. If you have alternative equipment available at your gym there are far better tools...
    Want leg strength or leg gains? Safety squat bar > barbell
    Want to get more "functional" strength or power? Farmer carry, sled push, sandbag lifts > barbell compound lifts
    Want to get more back gains? Weighted pull-ups > barbell rows
    Want to get more pressing strength? Swiss bar bench press > barbell bench press
    Want upper body gain work? Barbells and cables > barbell
    Increased off-floor strength? Barbells might be the best here, but debatably trap bars may be better for some, atlas stones may be better for some
    Overhead? Barbells might be the best again, but for some uses dumbbells will be better
    The lifts it does become about the best option are olympic lifts and in some cases barbell power cleans over sandbag power cleans.
