Boxing is fun
To be good depends on three genetic factors:
speed, power, and coordination
Unfortunately I only have the last one. So I was ok at using my long reach to drop precision straights but fast guys ate me up
Because you’re on the wrong board
Wrong board
Usyk is a fraud who got knocked out in his last fight
cope
cope zigglet, your black beast couldn't even beat him after doing a low blow lol
He was never close to being knocked out. I don't think he got his brain rattled once.
kinda this
I think the low blow wasn't low and was a solid body punch, but if the ref saw it right and started a 10 count, I have 0 doubt Usyk could have made it then played defense until he got settled again without much worry. It's a cope to say he should have lost because the ref mistook where a punch landed and Usyk acted a bit of a c**t taking 3 minutes rest for a legit shot
Checked.
>How come I don't see threads about boxing?
There is like 2-3 threads most of the time here.
>have you tried it anon?
Yeah.
>how has your condition improved over time?
Still smoking cigs.
>1 hr can very well do a thousand calories
I don't know what to say about this.
Still missing it 🙁
Nothing feels good like to punch a water pear , omg I had such amazing hook....
OOOOHHHHHH DERRREEEECCCCKKKK CHISSOOOOORRRAAAAAA
boxing is basically just gay sex without the penetration
Says fricking who?
says me, gay boy
that's BJJ, even wrestling is less gay since it has stand up foreplay before they start rolling around with each other
I've been thinking of picking it up/joining a local boxing gym since I want to more socially based fitness activities then just lifting in my home gym, main issue is I've seen plenty of boxers end up with brain damage and I'd rather avoid that, anons here have said to just not get hit in the head and spar with the right people but how true is that? Could I just ask the other guy that I'm training mainly for conditioning/health and the social benefits and I'd rather not suffer serious brain damage?
>Could I just ask the other guy that I'm training mainly for conditioning/health and the social benefits and I'd rather not suffer serious brain damage?
OMFG LMAO
Yeah it sounded stupid in my head too but the only gym in town that has the cool stuff I'd like to do for conditioning (battle ropes, sleds, hammers and tires) is female only and there's nothing for stuff like trail running anywhere nearby
Identify as a woman
if you're a strategical analytical sperg who enjoys cqc and micro analysing moves of famous boxers in slow motion under 1.5 seconds, then you're good to go
You won't get brain damage from sparring
You absolutely will. I boxed for years and I would get terrible headaches and concussions. There is no doubt you will get brain damage
head gear a non moron spar partner will keep you fine. If you've got some street rat frick trying to take your block off from the go sure CTE is on the cards
>you've got some street rat frick trying to take your block off from the go sure CTE is on the cards
That's the only way you should be sparring if you're a man
have fun having your diapers changed at 45 by a swarthy immigrant then you big ol manly man you
You can definitely ask to "keep it light" at least, you won't really get any trauma unless you're hard sparring. Granted yeah this hinges on your partner not being a tool so use your discretion when pairing up.
You can always just focus more on mitt work as well, and honestly if you're just starting out you probably won't spar immediately anyways, and if you do it'll be kept light. I've seen a couple of guys at my gym too (mainly older, granted) who treat it as more of a social club but no-one really bats an eye. Just give it a shot and see what you think, it's a lot of fun.
Thats the thing, I'd mainly use it as a social club with fitness, I'm a bit of a recluse but recently have had the urge to socialise/try and make friends and figured since I love most forms of exercise boxing would be a good start for people my age (20s)
While you can spar lightly, it can be done only if your partner also goes lightly. I've had a great coach who wouldn't allow hard sparring but that doesn't prevent some partners from going exceptionally hard.
Long story short, I quit sparring eventually. I got to a point where I know I can fight. My short term memory started being worse and I would at times forget what I was about to say mid sentence. I would get more irritated and would feel more depressed from time to time. I've made a recovery on those things, but no, I'm not getting back to sparring.
Boxing is for morons who want to become even more moronic braindead vegetables at 45 while still losing a fight to any grappler with 3 months experience
Glory to oinkraine
>oinkraine
Get that ruzzian wiener out of your hands and mouth, cause you're making typos, lol
I just want to grill for gods sake!
Why not kickboxing instead? You hate training your lower body that much?
90% of the kickboxing gyms target audience is wine moms, I'm sure there are legit kickboxer gyms that are good but none near me. It's become normie'd and commercialised to hell in my area at least
>How come I don't see threads about boxing?
Because bodybuilders are pussies who only care about looking pretty
