For depression related reasons I've too lazy to cook and have been mostly eating raw vegetables, fruit and cottage cheese and I'm losing fat like crazy while my (modest) gains from the last 6 months seem to stay where they are mostly. I will probably regain some of that weight, but for the moment it's kind of nice to get to see my muscles because they're not covered in a huge mass of fat.
Any tips, in general, for eating?
get a rice cooker and cook rice, ultimate lazy food
i thought there was nothing good about rice
There's nothing good about rice. Truly unnecessary to even include carbs like that
get a pizza cooker and cook pizza, frick rice
Italian detected, opinion ignored
If what you are already doing is successful keep doing it. If I liked cottage cheese I would be inclined to try it myself.
i do something similar
oatmeal + yogurt + cottage cheese + fruit for breakfast
whatever for lunch
raw vegetable for dinner
it's a great diet, low calorie and never feel hungry
That sounds great.
Yogurt and/or kefir (kefir is time consuming because of the straining)
Raw eggs (yolks only preferred)
Canned oysters 1-3x a week (for micros, specifically zinc)
Potatoes and kale/spinach can all be tossed into a bot with some water and just boiled for however long you want and that helps with minerals a ton while needing no cleanup
If you get an instant pot it's easy to make your own yogurt. There's other ways too but instant pots have a setting just for yogurt and a big enough container to make a gallon of it at a time. I do this.
i-isn't that too much zinc anon?
>throw a whole chicken in the slow cooker, almost cover it in water, then cook on high until it's cooked through.
>take the chicken out, shred all the meat from the bones/skin, then throw everything non-meat back into the slow cooker and keep cooking it for as long as long as you want.
>throw some whole or halved vegetables in for the last hour.
you now have a whole chicken's worth of shredded meat and a bunch of stock to use for cooking or to just drink it. also save any bones from meat that you eat throughout the week and put it in the freezer to add to the slow cooker.
>broth for drinking
is this the totally new trend to eat like a fricking dog
Also, I've always kind of been too stupid to actually count calories. But after a stretch of depression I'm feeling in the mood to maybe play around with my eating habits. I'm kind of happy for any ideas where I don't have to get a science degree.
Zero carb diets make people lean without calorie counting. Simple.
Carnivore diet cures depression.
I'm on a modified carnivore. My diet is basically Biltong, Tallow, Cappuccino, and Hoeny. I feel bretty gud a couple weeks in. Already down a few pounds and have great mental clarity.
>Moxyte's only argument is literally an image that has literally nothing to do with keto
why is she like this?
>reeee moxite moxite!
Keto induced schizophrenia strikes again.
How much biltong are you eating in a day? If I have a whole bag of beef jerky in a day my jaw muscles get sore from the chewing.
Biltong is softer than jerky and I eat roughly 300g sometimes more if I'm super hungry.
PRO TIP:
If you have gas problem when you eat, try Google for some meds where you live that contains Saccharomyces boulardii
I was a gas machine, used to fart so much that it got me mad many times
And this med fixed me. I can digest lots of different foods that used to make me fart like a rocket
It is some kind of living organism that colonize the gut and regulate the gut biome
The conforte it provides is a blessing
Don't know if it is forever but I am on week 2 now
Has your depression changed in any way after your diet change?
Not that I expect it to, but some people with clinical depression genuinely experience moderate to severe improvement in their mood after changing their diet to incorporate more whole foods.
>on changed in any way after your diet change?
>Not that I expect it to, but s
No, not that I notice. I'm sort of happy that I'm losing weight, but other than that, it's pretty much unchanged. But that's ok, I get depressive episodes from time to time, I'm almost used to it.
Raw beef and raw cheese is best.
bump
raw veggies? why would you eat them raw? what kind of vegetables are you eating?
Mostly, but not exclusively cucumber, carrots, sliced paprika.
cooking is pretty fun
i did like hour and a half of cooking today and ended up with food for three days and then some.
made a frittata that wheighs more than a kilo, bacon potato soup and roasted chicken legs
try this
>canned kidney beans
>tomato paste
>canned tuna
>salt, garlic, pepper
>dump all of it in a pot
>mix
>add bagged fresh salad lettuce
>mix more
>bring all of it to a heat
>add a bit of shredded cheese and let it melt
