    Looks kinda easy no?

it’s an beginner-intermediate calisthenics excercise so it should be easy but you gotta remember that most of this board can’t do a pull-up

        Anonymous

Yeah. I feel like if you can do a toe to bar, you should be able to do this. It's just holding your core straight and not an actual strength exercise.

I can do a tucked on the rings but I’ve never actually tried on a straight bar because we don’t have any that are low to the ground and it feels a little iffy do invert myself that high above the ground

Pussy, you're holding the bar with your hands. Are you going to let go?

Have you tried any calisthenics skill excercises before? Your 500 pound deadlift is completely useless.
People who only lift weights tend to think they know everything about fitness and when they try something like calisthenics or other exercise that requires actual athleticism they come face to face with the reality that their bodies are incredibly incapable.

            >calisthenics skill excercises
Like a pistol squat? Could do that the first time I tried, not even lifting. A handstand? Same thing.
None of it is particularly hard until you get into outrageous circus trick bullshit and none of that is very useful.
A 500 lb deadlift is infinitely more useful and difficult.

You would have to be pretty stupid to believe this
What you do is easy. Every powerlifter under 400 lbs can do a pullup. Most untrained guys off the street can do a pullup.
But it will take years of effort for you to get to a 500 deadlift.

Instead of wasting time learning that you could have been learning cool tricks to show off your skills to other people, anytime any place. Women in particular love it

I did 455 deadlift at age 18 weighing like maybe 170lbs. It’s not hard. All calisthenics guys can put up good numbers in the gym but most powerlifting guys can’t do basic calisthenics movements.

I did calisthenics for a year which then translated to extremely mediocre lift numbers
For instance I could do 17 chinups and then deadlifted idk 225 for a few reps
Moving your body is not enough stress to translate to moving heavy weights

This, along with saying you can't walk up stairs or run a mile, is stupidity and cope of an extreme degree.

Why do calisthenicgays think you have to be a fat ultraheavyweight to lift heavy? I know a guy that is my country's powerlifting champ in our weight division (over 4pl8 on bench), he lifts 500+ lbs on deadlifts and is shredded as hell, absolute monster of a guy. And he can do calisthenucs shit too. You think people have to look like anemic stucks to do calisthenics exercises? You can both LOOK GOOD and BE STRONG. Just put in some more effort. Instead of saying "heh yeah the exercises i'm good at are THE BEST, and the ones.i' bad at are SHIT", why not try to get good at both? Don't cope

It's so pathetic. They justify their weakness by saying that everyone who is strong is some 400 lb equipped squat specialist.

Explain what's so hard about the front lever. You literally just hold the bar and lift your legs horizontally. It's like a hanging leg raise but a tad bit harder. If I had a straight bar at my gym, I could go there today and probably get a 5 second hold without even trying

It's a lever with big disadvantage. The more your lower half of the body weights/the longer it, the harder it is.

You are crying about people shitting on the front lever when they can't do it but you shit on a 500lbs as if you could do it, you also can't do front levers either.

          Anonymous

I can do toes-to-bar for sets of 12 with no momentum but cannot do a front lever. Working up to it with tucked variations that I can hold for like 20-30 seconds right now. It's not too far out of reach but it's definitely harder. I think you're also underestimating how much shoulder, chest, and lat involvement there is. Isometrics are strenuous even if you're already strong.

Doing one (1) pull up is too much to ask most of this board. But at least they can deadlift 500 pounds and can’t see their dick cus their fat ass gut is in the way.

How? I began seriously going to the gym 7 months agovand by the 4th month I was able to do more than 1 pull up.

        Anonymous

Pretty sure the prerequisite for this is like 20% bw weighted pullup for 5 reps. And that's not including the level of core strength required. Not to mention this is just a skill exercise that's provides no use if you aren't into calisthenics. And before you ask, no I can't do one. I'm not claiming it's easy, it just has no real usefulness

Honestly, you guys have made up some strawman to cope with IST telling your b***h ass off. I'm pretty sure 99% of fit can do at least one pull-up, and before you say "you'd be surprised": think "how do you know that, dum dum? Why do you think you know that?"

the truth that sharting strength enjoyers don't want to hear is that the only reason a barbell makes high loads feel so comfy is that you take most of the small stabilisation muscles out of the equation. That's great if you want to make your big muscles bigger but useless for stuff like valistjenics because you're bottlenecked at best and go to snap city at worst. On the other hand calisthenicsgays don't get big but you can throw them off a cliff and they will walk away from it.

  8. 9 months ago
