    Do you know the cause?
Most common is somehow you lack iron.
Just fricking supplement it, or cook in a cast iron pan (non-heme iron will leach out, it will get you fixed fast).
But that's treating the symptoms, you gotta find out the cause.
Are you a menstruating woman? Donating blood? Check for blood in feces too, but that's bad news.
Or maybe you're cutting like an idiot, it just means eating less, you aren't supposed to self-harm!

I'm vegan for the Orthodox Christmas fast. Maybe that was the reason for low blood pressure. I should check again after Christmas when eating normally.

Low pressure, sure, low iron... it's still suspicious. A religious fast shouldn't be long and intense enough to frick

      >Just fricking supplement it,
Most iron supplements are not bioavailable and are usually toxic. Do not do it. Eat real motherfricking food and make sure you have a whole food source of vitamin C to increase absorbtion. I use decently high dose of acerola cherry powder with basically every meal. I eat tons of eggs and milk with the occasional steak and beef liver supplement. That will cover all your bases.

        >milk
Low ferritin poster here. Every doc I talked to said that milk inhibits iron absorption...but every actual study I've read said that's not the case. Looks like coffee might affect it thou

You're supposed to take a vitamin c tablet 500mg with every iron pill twice a day to increase ferritin.

Vitamin c helps absorb iron a shitload, speeding up increasing ferritin.

Yep. My doc had me at EOD dosage because she thought it would give me stomach problems. It was slow going at that rate (levels went from 27 to 34 in about a month). I've bumped it up to every day with a Vitamin C pill. Also started incorporating liver in my diet once a week. Will test again in about a month.

At 20, I was diagnosed with severe anemia. My ferritin was 6. For men it needs to be at least 100. I drank orange juice with every iron pill twice a day and it took a year and a half to get my ferritin to 148. I felt like shit until then.

Then a few years ago when my ferritin was 70 I started taking vitamin c pills chewable 500mg twice a day with iron. My ferritin shot up to over 100 in 2 months only.

I'm so pissed I had to endure the slow recovery when I was 20, especiallyconstantlyfeelinglike I was goingto faint. Thank God for vitamin c pills.

Dang. Glad you recovered. You've got me considering bumping up to twice a day. I'll see what my next test says.

Ascorbic acid is not the same as whole food vitamin c. Since ascorbic acid made in a lab is not the complete form, it depletes other nutrients in your body.
Try whole food vitamin C and feel the difference.

You don't know what you're talking about Black person. I was told by my new MD to take vitamin c tablets, and my ferritin increased fast.

Leave the advice for the experts.

            No, you're just fruity.
            Go eat iron-rich food.
Liver or red meat would be best, beans might be enough, if you are really stupid go buy it as a supplement, it's cheap.

                Not really tho.
As a fruitarian, if you don't have anemia NOW, you eventually will.
If you don't believe me, check your ferritin, as the guy in the post above mentions, you'll be surprised. Don't ignore a low ferritin, it's a stress signal that will easily devolve into low iron.

I have low ferritin (iron stores) but I'm not anemic thankfully -other levels, like HGB are perfectly fine.

In my case I think it's because I A. Donated blood a couple weeks before my test. B. Consume tons of coffee and milk with my meals which can inhibit iron absorption and C. Lift heavily 4x a week, which can also drain ferritin. I don't have bloody stools, I'm pretty sure I don't have any significant GI issues overall. Anecdotally, I know a few other guys from the gym who have had low iron and needed to supplement.

Ferritin is rarely tested in blood tests but it can affect if you your numbers are low. I wouldn't be shocked if a lot of guys, especially very active ones had low numbers with that.

Try to find the root cause I guess.

vit c + iron supp 2-3 times a day and youll be fine soon.
As always start slow, low dose and keep increasing if no adverse effects,I dont think more than 100mgs of iron a day are needed.
