Yeah but not everyone has a lot of time for cardio. I'd rather do 20 min of very high intensity stair machine instead of 45+ of low intensity treadmill because I know I'll have burned the majority of cals I would have burned on the treadmill either way

I'm trying to get a point though. You can burn more cals on less time, but you can burn more cals overall by doing something low intensity.
