What’s with all the people here that will do anything to avoid squatting? It’s one of the best lifts you can do.

because it takes a lot of effort to learn properly
It takes some trial and error but watching one video and maybe a form check to solidify
Nah, this is bullshit.
Consistently and confidently executing reps takes a long time.
Of course if you're nowhere near failure or pushing for numbers, none of this matters.
I only front squat
it's hard
>I have become death, the destroyer of dyels
i saw ronnie walking in crutches.
no squats (or deadlifts) for me, thanks.
i mean, it ain't like my quads were gonna get me laid or nothing.
A chicken leg homie posted this
nah, its fine actually.
i do goblet squats and leg extensions. which, obviously, not remotely as effective as proper squats, but still.
i'd also be down for hack squats, but my gym doesn't have the machine
in any case, unless i start roiding, i really don't see any possible way for my physique to become unbalanced.
i could totally grow my upper body to my full natty potential and i still wouldn't look very disproportionate, at least by normie standard.
>i do goblet squats and leg extensions
What goes through your head when you do these? Do you avert your eyes if an attractive woman or alpha male passes?
Leg press
Hack squats
Seated leg curls
SLDLs
... no one needs barbell squats
No one needs you, anon.
>What’s with all the people here that will do anything to avoid squatting?
'cause it's hard. Most people don't want to work THAT hard.
I get anxious the day of doing squats. I never want to do them; yet at the same time i'm excited, cause numbers keep going up; whether poundage, reps, or even form.
>Leg press
>Hack squats
>Seated leg curls
>SLDLs
Those and more are also great options. You don't "need" BB squats, but they're fundamental. Do them all or do none; your body reflects the work and type of exercise you put in.
Best lift for what? Looking like a deformed homosexual, so that incels on IST and other gay men from grindr can like you?
Grow the frick up you delusional clown and frick off to do lifts that matter. Like OHP.
I don't like squats myself, but I think the reasons compound.
>needing a rack or other special equipment more expensive than bench press
>lack of direct impact, compared to say bench or dead where you are lifting heavy things and squat where it just rests on shoulders
>lack of noticeable muscle gain because it is more spread out
>squatting sets are very tiring and ruin the rest of a workout, where I can do dips and bench together with limited issues
>squats having limited real world benefits and not giving esthetics
Skill issue/weakling cope
a rack or other special equipment more expensive than bench press
Need a bench & rack for a bench press
>>lack of direct impact, compared to say bench or dead where you are lifting heavy things and squat where it just rests on shoulders
Squats have the longest rom of the big three, i dont understand what you mean
>>lack of noticeable muscle gain because it is more spread out
Big legs, big glutes, stronger core, stronger hips, stronger back
sets are very tiring and ruin the rest of a workout, where I can do dips and bench together with limited issues
They can be
having limited real world benefits and not giving esthetics
You have limited real world knowledge lmao
You know damn well I meant that equipment to bench press is far cheaper than squats.
It's bad but at least it's safer than death lift and overhead press
It fricks your spine up pretty bad
this, I've got herniated disc, doing barbell squat will fricks it even more, so I've been doing dumbell split squat instead
I just squatted for the first time in over half a year a few hours ago. I only did 8 reps of a single plate. I was immediately winded and sat down on the bench to catch my breath. My legs cramped up almost instantly and were stuck in the seated position. It felt like my hamstring was going to tear itself in half if I stood up all the way. I know squats are important, but holy hell was that demoralizing.
I've though about squatting every day for just a few reps just to get it over with. I just hate this fricking lift with passion.
JFC just lower the weights and work your way up again
No need to suffer through the exercise that way
quite frankly I would rather kill myself than lower by squat below 135
imagine being an ego lifter when you're dyel
i have been obese for most of my life so my legs are disproportionately stronger than the rest of my body from carrying all that extra weight
Most fat people can't squat for shit. Unless you mean muscular fat like the people with hard jobs that are fat.
I fricking hate squatting and feel like a weakling, plus sometimes it makes my heart skip a beat which is disconcerting.
Low bar is my best lift, like keeping a landslide from crushing my loved ones. Full body freak out makes the body adapt like crazy
I have bad butt wink no matter what I do form wise I feel like
any tips on wrist pain when squatiing? at this point i'm considering dropping the exercise altogether or switching to front squat
i've been trying various wrist positioning on barbell and it's still the same, would be my top1 fav exercise if it wasn't for that
Dont wrap your hands around the bar. Do low bar squats and position the heel of your hands to support the bar while it rests on your back
because it sucks and doesn't work for anyone over 5'10
Why squat when I can leg press carefully, at a slow pace, and do ab work/deadlifts to make up the deficit?
let me guess, another dyel getting folded over at 1pl8 telling other people what lifts they should and shouldn't do
I zercher.
>do high bar squat
>low bar posture
>still go ATG
homosexuals hate me and I hate them back
Am DYEL. Meaning, I don't lift, I occasionally do some maintenance exercise and am decent looking due to a lucky combination of fat and some muscle, but I am having UNBELIEVABLE difficulties with almost anything related to legs. Sorta. To explain :
>sat down on the leg press, not even five plates are there
>girl left these here earlier, how hard could it be? I used to do this for sets in high school anyway
>sit down, release safeties
>FRICKING MY BACK TURNS INTO RICE CRISPIES CUZ THIS b***h IS GOING SNAP CRACKLE AND POP
>return safeties and stumble away
I can't back squat. I probably just damaged the tendons and stuff in my legs doing a hundred (separated) reps on the Cringe machine (the Smith machine). I'm probably going to uselessly hire our gym's personal coach to give me some useless advice when the real problem is my back which I injured some years ago. In any case, the back squat seems like an absolute no-go (unless...)
But I can hack squat and trap deadlift a bit. I used the hack squat machine today and didn't seem to have any pain. But I don't even know what I'm doing, I don't know if what I'm doing now will cause chronic pain later on, etc. et etc. Lifting just seems like such a bother, you know? Why try? What do I do? If even actual fit/izens "meme" back squats and their difficulty, why not do hack squats or front squats instead?
>doesn't lift
>makes a blog post
Whoa that's crazy dude
