Squat more, improve your form.
Look into Tom Platz, the father of quads and squatting, his tips on using the quads instead of fricking up and using the hip flexors instantly helped me lift +70kg with ease
There are different squat variations, anon. Low bar with hip drive is for greater strength by utilizing more muscle mass in the posterior chain, high bar is more quad dependent and normally used by bodybuilders and your bro lifters in the gym. I prefer Rippetoe's squat model as it allows me to lift more weight.
lol what. how would switching up to a technique that quite literally is more difficult and has less loading potential "instantly add +70kg"? the more hip flexor dominant position is favoured by powerlifters because it is objectively superior in a lifting context to move more weight, Tom Platz himself literally said that the high bar, more quad dominant squat is not for lifting more weight, but to lift it better in a bodybuilding context.
honestly that's stronger than they'd ever need to be and much stronger than the average untrained fat so yeah they're not wrong. It's the gymcels who are delusional
engage your back and core more. relaxing too much on these is a common cause of limited squat strength. also quit being a pussy, having hundreds of pounds on your back can frick with your head but don't let it
I hate how gym culture got turned into an outlet for normies failing mental health. It wasn't like this 10 years ago. Fitness is now a surrogate activity, and women + social media were the final nail in the coffin of gym culture.
honestly you're not escaping this in literally all activities unless you leave the city. It's a city problem not a gym one. Even so it's very easy to find your general old school basement dungeon gyms even in the city. They usually cost more and look gritty and beat to keep the gays put. Often they actually have better older equipment you don't get at commercial pozzville
I'm about to escape this, my bench has gone up so it's still slightly outpacing my squat. I really had to work on my squat form (talking months), still do sometimes - and obviously train squats more and harder. I neglected my legs a lot and have gone the other way now that I'm taking it seriously. That's the simple version.
if you are really tall like myself, you might have long femurs (I think it's called like that in English) so it's quite a lot harder to squat
it's over

Is this contrary to what Rippetoe says about hip drahve?

Personally I like to mix low bar squats with zerchers for quads.

This doesn't mean much without numbers.
How much is your bench and how much is your squat OP?
185 bench
140 squat
Bench about 90kg for one and squat around 75kgx5
I'm doing 5/3/1 as well which is probably where I'm going wrong
Also crazily I used to squat 165kg and bench 100kg but my squat just won't go up now I've come back to lifting

To squat more than you bench,
squat more than you bench.

it's been a surrogate activity since rome m8
Yeah, but Gym's in Ancient Rome weren't saying
>Hey are you a fricked up degenerate? Come on down!
