do people really just do it cause it's fun or because it's easy to egolift it

Because any unathletic moron can get fat and hit 500 lbs deadlift in a year or so
No. You're a moron.
If anything deadlift is the ultimate DYEL movement because it is the least affected by bodyweight 'Big 3' movement.
I think it’s important to overall strength to an extent but mostly just an ego lift
it's not fun at all to me
OHP is fun
deadlifting is boring. you frick up a bench? you frick up a good squat? you die. you frick up a deadlift and you just shit your pants like a moron
It's fun and it's extremely functional. You are just picking something heavy up and putting it down.
picking something heavy up from the floor is the most basic and useful expression of human strength.
My theory is that for people with a weak core deadlift is much easier than squats. If you can do 30 pushups and 50 crunches, then it doesn't matter. This may only be true of fat people becoming fat not twinks needing to gain weight.
easily the dumbest post I have read today on this board, and this is IST
In due fairness I meant fat people becoming fit. But seriously I think having a weak core is really impacting my squats, which are right now weaker than my bench.
>My theory is that for people with a weak core deadlift is much easier than squats
I enjoy it but it's too taxing for what it's worth IMO. That being said I go back to it every once in awhile, hit a PR, then decide to move on. In general I'd rather use that energy to focus on squat more if we're talking lower body. I have been doing trap bar lately though to try something new and it's been pretty fun.
It helps me carry heavy stuff without fricking up my back.

No, and your image was drawn by an idiot, a heavy deadlift uses 90% of the muscles in the body.
Deadlifting made my traps grow and my shoulders wider, did wonders for my low back too. And if you keep your neck engaged in can be a really good excercise for it, teaches you to engage your neck in unison with the back
>heavy thing on ground
>lift heavy thing
>feel good having lifted heavy thing
>day improves
simple as
I started lifting again regularly around six weeks ago and the only person I've seen deadlifting was a thicc asian girl with a big ass. Is deadlifting the new zoomer lift? Most of my gyms clientele are older dudes or bodybuilders.
because zoomers on social media do it and people are dyel sheep
>go to gym to become stronger
>why do people train for picking up a heavy thing?
