Vitruvian is top tier natty physique. Most people will never reach that level no matter how hard they try, with or without TRT due to genetics. It is possible natty though for some people
TRT made a huge difference for me. Went from test levels of 300 to 1400 on 200mg a week. I gained 15lbs of muscle in the first 6 months and I had been lifting for 3 years at that point. TRT isn’t enough to make you a monster, but it does significantly help in the gym.

Test is cheap and readily available. I get Pharma-grade test, but one of the first things I did was buy 3 years worth of testosterone from underground labs.
As far as losing muscle goes, I don’t think that’s the case. It’s far harder to gain muscle than it is to maintain it. Plenty of studies show the increased number of muscle nuclei formed during steroid use are permanent. You do lose some mass when you get off, but your threshold for muscle growth is permanently increased. All of this is moot, of course, because I don’t ever plan on coming off.

So basically in gaming a 'sleeper' is a build where your character doesn't look particularly impressive but they absolutely decimate when given the opportunity.
I've been researching fitness and I'm essentially trying to 'gamify' it to maintain my interest. I always opt for sleeper builds because I'm not interested in vanity but I like to subvert expectations and dominate people who you wouldn't expect me to, so that's how I want to approach fitness.
I understand that to develop this I need to focus on strength sets (1-5 reps) rather than hypertrophy (8-12) and build the 'skill' of strength. I do not intend on cutting and have no interest in gaining weight. I have no interest in looking 'visibly' muscular because I feel like it would put me to close to these hedonistic vanity-based tiktok bodybuilders who have very different motivations. I just want to be a normal looking dude who can be crazy strong when he needs to be.
I haven't started yet as I'm still developing my strategy. I'm wondering if there are any tricks or exercises that will help me develop strength while limiting potential hypertrophy as much as possible. I'm already including deadlifts, snatches, cleans (no jerk or presses as they're very shoulder isolating) and farmers carrys for example.

This has been literally the exact goal for me in my fitness journey the past decade. However, don't be afraid to gain weight, training really heavy is gonna necessitate an increase in body weight especially if your main goals are strength. Strength may be mainly correlated with neurological efficiency, but it's a far faster process with increased muscle size. If you stay around 18-24% bf you'll still look like an average fella also which is useful in other areas. I hope ya accomplish your goals. Also don't shy away too much from OHP. Yes it's shoulder isolating however you're not gonna get enormously capped off delts as much as you'd think. OHP/Jerk and pressing exercises are some of the most functionally useful things you can do, so get after it.

Getting a 'sleeper' build physique.
So basically in gaming a 'sleeper' is a build where your character doesn't look particularly impressive but they absolutely decimate when given the opportunity.
I've been researching fitness and I'm essentially trying to 'gamify' it to maintain my interest. I always opt for sleeper builds because I'm not interested in vanity but I like to subvert expectations and dominate people who you wouldn't expect me to, so that's how I want to approach fitness.
I understand that to develop this I need to focus on strength sets (1-5 reps) rather than hypertrophy (8-12) and build the 'skill' of strength. I do not intend on cutting and have no interest in gaining weight. I have no interest in looking 'visibly' muscular because I feel like it would put me to close to these hedonistic vanity-based tiktok bodybuilders who have very different motivations. I just want to be a normal looking dude who can be crazy strong when he needs to be.
I haven't started yet as I'm still developing my strategy. I'm wondering if there are any tricks or exercises that will help me develop strength while limiting potential hypertrophy as much as possible. I'm already including deadlifts, snatches, cleans (no jerk or presses as they're very shoulder isolating) and farmers carrys for example.

A bit of advice for someone who clearly has never touched a barbell.
When you weight X its very hard to get past Y powerlifting total. That's why there is weight classes at powerlifting.
My point being
If you are a skinny frick like the guy in OPs pic
It might take years or be straight up impossible to improve on lets say bench if you are not gaining bodyweight.
When you get down to 10-12% bodyfat everything slows down to the point the actual training is becoming harder and harder then you stall and lose muscle to compensate you low body fat.

This has been literally the exact goal for me in my fitness journey the past decade. However, don't be afraid to gain weight, training really heavy is gonna necessitate an increase in body weight especially if your main goals are strength. Strength may be mainly correlated with neurological efficiency, but it's a far faster process with increased muscle size. If you stay around 18-24% bf you'll still look like an average fella also which is useful in other areas. I hope ya accomplish your goals. Also don't shy away too much from OHP. Yes it's shoulder isolating however you're not gonna get enormously capped off delts as much as you'd think. OHP/Jerk and pressing exercises are some of the most functionally useful things you can do, so get after it.
