1:1 Meat to Vegetables Ratio

Vegan is ridiculous, carnivore is ridiculous. Find the proper balance in life. Just eat 1 lb of vegetables for every pound of meat.

Proper balance is 4:1 vegetables:meat ratio (volume wise). Meat is too dense

Yeah bro. Just eat something that takes up the volume of a small house to for every 200 calories.

Personally I don't eat meat at all (except occasionally in the form of fish). I don't like meat. My methionine sources are eggs and milk, the rest of the aminos I get from lentils + vegetables which make the bulk of my diet.

Aren't white people the most susceptible to gluten allergies? A lot of the world literally isolates wheat gluten as a meat substitute due to poor conditions for livestock farming...

        >gluten + meat will frick your heart up
Explain the interaction between gluten and meat, vs just gluten with no meat.

          Anonymous

it's not a direct interaction. Gluten creates bowel permeability, which allows toxins and bacteria to get into the bloodstream, which in turn causes chronic inflammation (body fighting foreign substances), which in turn causes cholesterol from meat to accumulate in the endothelial walls (as a side effect of fighting inflammation)

Every day I eat a pound of fruit (reduce weight if the fruit is dried), a pound of veggies (reduce weight if leafy greens), and a half a pound of protein so meat beans whatever. And then two portions of a starch like bread rice or tortillas. Rest is whatever.

Seems pretty balanced to me. And as long as I skip breakfast I can eat whatever the frick I want.

"Balance" is itself a dietary fallacy. It doesn't mean anything. We need a certain amount of nutrients in the correct ratios, and to avoid certain toxins and inflammatory compounds. Just eating an arbitrary "balance" of foods doesn't guarantee meeting these criteria since much of the modern diet is garbage.

Veganism is ridiculous that is correct. Carnivore is not ridiculous, it is nutritionally complete and effective, if a little boring and unnecessary. Plants don't have to be avoided entirely unless you have health problems like auto-immune diseases that require it. They should just be treated for what they are; food bulk for taste and extra calories, not a serious nutritional alternative to animal foods.

So a sensible diet should ALWAYS be centered around a particular animal food (this is common across all indigenous cultures historically) whether it's a particular meat, fish, eggs etc. You can garnish the dish with vegetables but generally vegetables should be fermented in as close to their wild form as possible. Raw modern engineered vegetables are not as healthy as corporations and activists like to pretend.

      stopped reading there
Both are extreme diets, but we're more vegetarian than carnivores, it's pretty obvious when you see our digestive system. Or if you look at our closest relative species, chimpancees: they eat mostly plant matter and only a small part of their diet is meat (5-10% volume wise)

There is nothing "extreme" about carnivore, most generations of your ancestors were carnivorous which highlights just how idiotic such beliefs like yours in modern fad diets are. You can't hope to be taken seriously in matters of nutrition if you stick your head in the sand when it comes to the important matter of anthropology, specifically are digestive adaptations.

Like you post, it's pretty obvious when you look at our digestive system that we are carnivorous. Chimps are not a close species, their digestive system is completely different. Humans first went through perhaps a million years of scavenging, discovering cooking with fire, then hundreds of thousands of years of hunter-gathering after which our entire anatomy and digestive system became completely different to chimps. It's mind-blowing that you would even invoke chimps as some sort of moronic defence of veganism, considering even in a true omnivore like a chimp (humans are not true omnivores), they still have to eat their shit because they just can't obtain enough nutrients from plants on the first pass, and they will absolutely prioritise meat when they can.

The human gut is clearly evolved to eat cooked vegetation and cooked meat.

The only reason why carnivores stand their extreme diet better than vegans is because we've depleted our soil off of micronutrients through monoculture.

Just my opinion but I think avoiding or dramatically reducing the amount of processed foods is a good approach to diet.

Personally i'm trying to eat more fish that meat after basing my meals around meat for years. Just want a leaner source of protein and healthy fats. Not a big fan of chicken due to genetic deformities like white striping and woody breast making the texture of modern farmed birds quite unappealing.

Eating more vegetables is never a bad thing.
