>artificial sweeteners
And they are bad because...?
For me it's flavored quark cream. 20g protein in a 200g package (150 calories or so) add in some milk, a banana and a two scoops of whey and it's a decent meal replacer. Keeps me full till morning.
There are few long term studies on artificial sweetener consumption. The few that do exist show that they wreak havoc on the gut/digestive biome. One study on Aspartame showed that it spiked blood sugar in diabetics worse than processed sugar did.
>The few that do exist show that they wreak havoc on the gut/digestive biome
why should this concern me? Does the amount of sweetener matter? >One study on Aspartame showed that it spiked blood sugar in diabetics worse than processed sugar did.
what if I am not a diabetic?
>why should this concern me?
Your gut biome is responsible for a multitude of aspects of your heath including but not limited to mood/mental health/brain health, ability to maintain a health weight and assist with keeping your immune system healthy.
>what if I am not a diabetic?
It should concern you because artificial sweeteners claim about being a "healthier" option than sugar, may not be true, particularly in the case where they're recommended for diabetics.
I just dont undertand why? I remember that 12 years ago when I lived at my parents and started lifting I also ate protein puddings and shakes. I was a kid I didnt make my own food etc. (and back then ppl thought you needed +300g of protein per day) but I just cannot imagine eating them now. Why? What for?
Its not only that it tastes worse than real food but there's just no room for them. Why get 20g of protein from a fricking goyslop pudding instead of 3 eggs? I just dont get it. Or instead of eating 80g worthof protein from meat, eat 100g worth of protein from meat. Eat oats with milk and peanut butter. I get my protein intake goal from legitimate real foods that taste fricking amazing and are 10x more satiating.
Because it's quick you goddamn moron, that's the whole point. It's fricking easy protein when you are on the go. What.. are you gonna cook 3 eggs on your way to work or when you get that random hunger on your way home? "oh lemme just buy a fricking steak instead of this cheap as frick protein source that taste alright and I can buy and eat within 5 minutes"
You can't put eggs in overnight oats or make tzatziki cooklet anon. Not everything goes directly down that gaping hole you call a mouth.
Greek yogurt Is top tier and slandering It is low IQ.
Calories. 20g @ 120 cal is pretty damn good. Eggs are twice that. Chicken is over 200. Beef is up there too. Also I already eat 3 eggs for breakfast. Eat six eggs? Frick you.
Recently discovered this. Easy as frick to make. Jello brand pudding mix, zero sugar or whatever it is called. Scoop of whey. Milk. Mix, put it in fridge. Eat direct from bowl
That, greek yogurt and i cook 7 chicken breasts on sunday for the week ahead. Easy meals. Frozen veggies help
If you like greek, try Icelandic (like Siggi's/Skyr), a genuinely good competitor with a much subtler flavour. I love greek as well though, for that tang. Anyone who still uses sour cream slop instead of greek/icelandic is a nonce and deserves to miss out on the gains
During Covid to avoid social restrictions, and avoid gym restrictions I moved and lived in Sweden. I ate them every day with my chicken and rice, Saturday I had cheat days where I ate a kilo of grapes and like 10 of those puddings and watched anime. Good memories.
>We don't have this in Lidl here in Finland. What is it?
its twaróg - white cheese without fat, and it tastes similarly to quark but its a crumbly solid instead of a cream protein content 15-20 g /100 g, fat 0 to 8 %. the classic in poland. you can get them thrm for 70 eurocent.
What's the catch >Price >extra protein is whey floor sweepings
You NEETs need to learn to cook. High protein requires agency and meal prep.
>Decent 2 gallon crockpot $40-$60 >5 lb chicken breast 4.99/lb -> $20 >season the breasts with salt and pepper or get adventurous with extra seasoning >cook 6-8 hours. >shred
You now have 800g of protein. Microwave 10oz as a snack. Add hot sauce or Buffalo sauce for flavor.

>>5 lb chicken breast 4.99/lb -> $20
chicken breast costs like 7€/kg here (the cheapest)
>You NEED to learn to cook >Thinks dumping chicken In a pot and walking away is cooking
Do you think yourself a michelin star chef for turning on rice cookers too?
Yes Black person it is cooking. As opposed to eating packaged food. When you are eating 150-200g of protein a day you have to do bulk meal prep. You would know this if you actually did it, fatty.
>You NEED to learn to cook >Thinks dumping chicken In a pot and walking away is cooking

Cancer, liver failure, kidney failure, nuked gut microflora every time you ingest any kind of artificial sweetener, moron.
In 20 years idiots like you will die en masse of sweetener caused cancer

slavmaxxing, combine with minimum wage construction job in Germany for maximum effect >cons
if you eat enough of it they'll have to start emission testing you alongside your car
They have preservatives in them, same as in deli meats, that are linked to colon cancer.
Not sure how much i believe or care, but it's the only downside I see, I go through phases where i eat these fairly often with supplements and some trash TV before bed.
Used to eat these daily, but I've recently swapped for 20g protein coffees (125kcal and 79p from home bargains) and 25g protein yoghurts (140kcal 95p from aldi)
Breakfast is normally 2 yoghurts and a coffee for 70g of protein for just over 400 kcal
Couple of chicken breasts for lunch and im at 120g for 750ish kcals total, leaving another 750kcals for dinner and with a 1000kcal deficit
Sorta related but after 32 years of living I finally got turned onto eating canned tuna. All this time I assumed it'd be fricking disgusting and was surprised I actually like it, all that easy protein for like 90 calories a tin? How much is the mercury poisoning thing even real? I feel like i'd have to eat like 10 of these a day for years before I actually saw any effect.
There is another similar product. Quark yogurt. Cost 0.79€, 200 grams, 25g protein and 150kcal.
Eat those everyday. Sometimes I think if it's a scam or magic.
"no sugar added"
so its still go a lot of sugar
no, but it has artificial sweeteners

These things have been a godsend to me. Fricking love them.

Are you such a high time preference, low agency Black that you can't plan ahead?

you can make a kilo of pudding at home easily with some basic pudding pre-mix, whey and milk.
Recently discovered this. Easy as frick to make. Jello brand pudding mix, zero sugar or whatever it is called. Scoop of whey. Milk. Mix, put it in fridge. Eat direct from bowl

Second post…
I ate Greek yogurt from Lidl every morning, mixed 500g of greek yogurt with 200g of yogurt and 100g of muesli.
Just eat Magerquark bro. These things are more expensive than chicken per proton.
I prefer quark
3x cheaper than
still getting BRUTALLY mogged by picrel
You wouldn't eat a chuddy.
>twarog klinek

Chang, i..
Tvorog, aka Russian farmers cheese? is it possible to make at home?
The Lidl quark is excellent. 10g protein per 100g and hands down the cheapest option compared to any other product.
We don't have this in Lidl here in Finland. What is it?
jotain raejuustoa pölkkymuodossa
Honestly 10% protein does not seem much, in estonia we have some brands which have 20%. Its obv cheaper here, but 1 eur for 50g of protein is amazing.
>We don't have this in Lidl here in Finland. What is it?

Quark but drier and crumblier. Same shit otherwise
Same. The protein puddings are not that good that I would pay the price.

if your on a cut those protein yogurts are a godsend, if you're just a lard who eats whatever then sure your option is better.
I don't follow. Why would more carbs with less filling be better than more protein more filling?
based
>put 12 eggs and milk in blender $2
>fry ground pork on pan also $2
>you now have 200g of protein
and 200g of fat

Expensive for what it is. You could have a serving of salmon that has more calories and protons.
ugly artificial aftertaste.
expensive.
you will be better of biking, invest in a good pair of headphones
Goyslop
Just buy 1 kg of yoghurt. 100 grams of protein, 600-700 calories. €3
imagine eating ultra processed supermarket food
shit i'm from the balkans and i don't even stoop that low
what's your excuse, western europe?
The price, Lidl also sells skyr and greek yogurt that both have pretty much the same macros and cost 3/5 of this
It's great when it's on sale tho
Its literal poison

Highjacking to ask ISTs opinions on sauerkraut.
Pros, low calories (16~g per 100), tastes good, lots of vitamins C and E.
Cons: no protein.
It's good for your gut but like most things in life it should be eaten in moderation

slavmaxxing, combine with minimum wage construction job in Germany for maximum effect

if you eat enough of it they'll have to start emission testing you alongside your car
The downside is having to shop with the pond life that go to Lidl

german is such a meme language I swear to Göthe
They're probably the most tame language on the continent, they just get weird with compound words. Finnish is where things get fricking weird.
