I do cardio for 30 minutes and then I have to warm up the train-to be muscle for a good 10 minutes. each targeted muscle. I can't do 1 set rep to failure. I don't know what mentzer was smoking
50lb dumbbells are the heaviest I own, so I'm just trying to get to 5x10 with them on flat bench. Best so far was last week hit 10, 10, 10, 9, 6. What should I do after I hit 5x10? What's the mike mentzer video being referenced in the OP?

sorry I meant I'd rather do 4-5 sets of 8 or failure than to do only one set to failure
>can't do 1 set rep to failure
Are you moronic? Just rep until you can't move.
>doing cardio before a workout
Big mistake.

buy heavier weights
they're so fricking expensive though
i dont know homie go to a gym then
and lift with women & wagies? come on anon
alright fair enough, do you have resistance bands? maybe some sort of resistance band bench that incorporates your existing weights also.
That's not a bad idea, I do have those. Might be difficult to make it work with dumbbells though.
Adjustable dumbbells and just do more reps. Nothing wrong with 15, 20, 25, even 30.
I thought Mentzer's whole thing was more like 4 times a month.
How the frick do you progress with dumbbells? I find it so difficult to go up in 10 pound increments. Magnet weights?
Go up in smaller increments.
My gym doesn't have any
Maybe bands? I dunno. Lift a weight until you can do like 30 reps and then jump up 10?
Im coming around to dumbells. Just starting doing dumb bell curls from the EZ bar. Much better
