315 bench is the new 225. With all the knowledge of lifting acquired over the years the strength of the general population has skyrocketed from what it was before. Basically every Joe Shmo and high school senior is repping out 225 on the bench nowadays. 315 bench is the new metric for the average seasoned lifter. It's just not impressive anymore.
>t. pudgy manlet who just benched 95 pounds for the first time in his life
Good job man
> 315 bench is the new 225
When was 225 ever considered impressive? I was doing 225 at 13 with no prior workout experience. Just brute strength. By 16 i was benching 5pl8s for reps and on the varsity football team. I wasn't even the only guy doing it. Idk what to say but i think kids are getting weaker and softer
thats ok but I was doing 6 plates when I was 15
5 plates at 16 seems possible. 6 at 15 seems impossible. Gtfo of here
>I broke a world record at 13 that was only broken by a black kid two years ago
>I and many others were stronger than Morgan Nicholls at 16
Yeah you just looked those numbers up get the frick out of here Mr. varsity hand egg
Funny cause I remember my school got a new gym when we were 14 and a mate of mine was doing reps with 240lb never lifted before at 190lb bw.
240? So he wandered into the weight room loaded up two 45s, a 5, and a 2.5 and then busted some reps out?
(You)
OK, Chud
1rm 2 plates is when the noob gains stop. Most people get filtered once they realize it will take another 2-4 years to get to 3pl8
Post bench gay
Whose to say i didn't fricking do it? Were you guys there? Not every strongman gets documented you homosexuals
A 225 bench isn’t impressive. Maybe it was in high school, but now any grown adult should be able to do it.
>teenager/twink/kid = sub 225
>grown man = 225
>strong guy/enthusiast = 315+
>t. Just got home from benching 225 for 3x12 volume
A 225 lbs bench is a starter weight for 50% of the male population. Half the population of men walking off the street can do 225 lbs. without ever touching a weight. For everyone else, you should be able to do it within 3-6 months of a decent lifting program. You're right that 315 lbs requires a little more focus and attention, but everyone should be able to hit it within a year or two. 405 lbs is where things start to get a little trickier. Not everyone will be able to do that unless they really dedicate themselves and even then, guys under 6'0 will struggle.
holy shit you moronic, touch a fricking barbell im 250lbs and i struggled to bench 200 after 5 months of training
405 is when I start to get impressed. Anything less is weak tier.
ive only seen 2 guys benchin over 225 in my entire 5 month gymming journey
50% of the population would struggle with 1 plate 135lb. Benching is quite a specific movement and the muscles used really aren't exerted to that extent in day to day life, even if you work a physical job like construction.
Where in China? In America its 225
