I've never used gear and currently cutting (1550cal) and I'm doing that exact routine, no problems so far for the past 3 months
To add to this, I get lots of protein and sleep 8 hours a day, plus magnesium. So I imagine someone with subpar nutrition and shitty sleep would recover less effectively and could indeed burn out.

How is that even possible. I'm a vegetarian which is objectively sub-par for muscle building and for my first few months of lifting I would just lift and eat whatever and got visible gains.

i spent a period of time doing this (never been on gear) when i had nothing better to do and my body definitely started breaking down after a while. i also wasn't able to push as much weight. i think it just comes down to your body needing more rest.
You can do anything if you adjust the intensity to match your recovery. Post your routine.

Why not just use PPL? You'll be able to perform the shoulder exercises at a higher intensity and it's not like you're going heavy on arm isolations.
It's just how Arnold's beginner routine is set up. I personally like it because I still am progressing on my lifts. I don't shit on PPL either, but it just feels nice getting a total arm pump all on one day. Just hit 225 bench on a cut (I'm
) so it can't be all bad.
Because it doesn't offer any real advantages over training 4x a week. Also you WILL burn out after a while and you'll probably start to dread going to the gym. If you also have to drive 15+ mins to the nearest gym it's a waste of gas IMO. Do whatever you want tho.

I do the same routine except I only do 1 arm/shoulder day since those muscle groups tend to be overdeveloped for me. It’s my favorite routine so far. My lifts are all all top 80th percentile at 240 lbs, 15% bf. In my experience you’ll find more success emulating successful people like Arnold then tweaking the program over time to suit your strengths/weaknesses than listening to armchair experts. Most exercise science studies can’t be reliably reproduced anyway.
It's a fine schedule. But you can ruin any routine with too much volume or plateau early by not taking deloads as needed or even undertraining. Really you just have to parse it for yourself. If you don't feel like you need a deload every 2 months or so you're probably not training hard enough. If you feel like you need one every month you're probably going too hard. Ultimately most people don't 'listen to their bodies' (hate that phrase) on a long enough time frame and blame the split or program. If you personalize your volume to make almost any split work. People who get carried away with optimizations usually try to push unrealistic amounts of volume for their bodies.

It isn't if you are going too hard or doing too much volume every day. Personally I think it's fine and I've done it in the past, but unless you are an absolute gymcel or have nothing else going on in your life I would not recommend it, you will end up cutting down a couple of days eventually once you get tired of it and what to have more free time or are simply unable to keep up with it because of a busy schedule.
I'd say 3/4 times a week is good enough for a natty that is not planning on competing on any strength sports

preferably you'd be lifting hard enough and intense enough. that it would actually be your cardio. i figured this out some what recently by super setting and taking shorter rest breaks. almost threw up by the end i was so outta breathe. cardio IMO should be like some sort of skill based thing like swimming or boxing or something of the like rather than running stair master or some biking. but yeah man i just learned this recently and seriously idk what the frick ive been missing not working out to this intensity. i literally just learned this the other day and it so mind blowing it was insane
PPLPPLx is totally sustainable, you just have to keep your volume low
