6 month transformation

After 6 months of meticulous calorie-counting and consistent training I have finally done it. I have transformed myself from an underdeveloped prepubescent twink to a large and formidable traditionally masculine Chad. And to think that this whole time I simply needed to eat more food. Thank you IST for your sage advice

    Have you considered lifting weights?

Been lifting 4 days a week on PPL for months and I still haven’t seen progress. My body doesnt know how to put on muscle whatsoever

        Not enough protein and/or rest.
Do you have any bad habits inhibiting your recovery? Drinking alcohol?

no moron, it's just that he is starting from a skinny fat body with 0 muscle, it's going to take him a year just to get to a not subhuman baseline level

odds are you are not training hard enough, as in literally not putting enough weight on the bar. What are your big4 numbers?

dont judge, dont demoralize. We all started somewhere

              ohp 85
              bench 135
              squat 165
              dl 165

dont worry, it's normal to not see any visible progress with these numbers. It's ok, just keep lifting and overloading. Also eat well and sleep at least 8 hrs per night. Just be patient and be consistent. You're doing good

Yeah but if he were on fit circa 2010 he would have been told to start Starting Strength and wouldn't have spent 6 months thrpwing around b***h weight and not seeing any results. A begimmer program needs to acclimate a beginner to WORKING HARD with HEAVY WEIGHTS. Not 4 sets of 15 reps with 5lbs. I don't understand where the "SS is a meme" meme started from. OP is the PRIME candidate for doing SS for those 6 months.
                >hhehe le fat le moron lolol
I bet 99% of newbies who shit on SS have never read the book and are just bandwagonning on the meme.

Why would I need to read a book about lifting?
Just lift until can't lift, rest, repeat
                >but there's a science to it!
                No there isn't

It's barely a "book", its's a collection of tips on the big barbell lifts, which you would only figure out yourself after fumbling around aimlessly like a moron (OP) for months or even years. It's nuggets of wisdom from a guy that knows (well, KNEW at the time) what he's doing (Rippetoe has forgotten more about weightlifting than you or I will learn in a lifetime... unless you're Dorian Yates, in which case good evening sir). Remember when Starting Strength and Practical Programming (and the fricking sticky!!!) were recommended reading for every noob? That was because reading those meant you didn't have newbies shitting up the entire board with threads titled "hurrr what is le good starting routine durrr". Thise would be met with a swift "READ THE STICKY gay" and ignored. But nowadays, since only 10% of fit actually lifts, and the other 90% is dyels, these threads hit bump limit because every dyel NEEDS to voice his opinion on the best starting routine (which is never the tried and tested one that was used for decades, but always something they pulled off of reddit). The state of thr board saddens me and i will not be bumping this thread anymore. Bye.

all my numbers are 1/3 or more heavier than yours and you're bigger than me. I'm not sure if that's supposed to make you feel better, but it makes me feel worse. so at least you have that going for you.

PPL is designed for six days a week, with one rest day. PPL 4 times a week means you're hitting one muscle group twice a week and the other two muscle groups once a week.
If you're only working out 4 days a week you should do a upper lower split.

If you counted calories (which I doubt) you did not do it properly
If you had worked out (which I doubt) you did not do it properly
Reason I'm saying this even if you have the worst genetics in the world and you did at least one of those correctly (which I doubt) you would make a change in your first 6 months that would be noticable.
Now the real question is, is this even you in the pic and considering this is IST i srsly doubt it

you're gonna get trolled on here but this is a lot of progress. you can see you gained muscle from the way all the fat you have takes the shape of a male body rather than just flopping down the minimal amount of fat you had before did.

what you did was go from having very little muscle and little fat to having little muscle and a moderate amount of fat.

if you raelly think you didnt gain any muscle at all please post your before and after lifts. if they didnt change then there's something wrong with you sure. but your body minus fat now looks bigger than your entire "body" in the before pic.

You should be looking like this after around 9 months.
If you don't look like this by then, you are doing something terribly wrong. It's all your fault, do better.
