NTA, but people exaggerate how crowded gyms are. Only the bench press and lat machine tend to be crowded here, the rest is usually available.

Lat can be replaced by a frick ton of alternative exercises, and the bench well ... Just use the incline or decline press instead, because nobody wants to use it for some crazy reason.

I split up my sessions. I'll do half of my lifting, the important and most stimulating stuff, in the morning, and the other half, which is mostly isolations, in the evening. I'll also take a 10-15 minute walk, jog, or bike ride after I eat depending the circumstances. Every day that's 1-1.5 hours of lifting and 30-45 minutes of cardio and it doesn't impede my day to do that much because I'm not putting it all in one session. Makes it so much easier to schedule and you actually have enough energy to push yourself. After that it's a matter of eating and sleeping enough

I do recreational sports, which is a little different, but finding the motivation to go MMA classes is pretty easy because I always have fun.

Lifting for lifting's sake is honestly pretty hard. Strength and conditioning for another sport is honestly the best motivation to hit the gym.

I do it before work. I never use an alarm clock so if I failed to go bed on time the previous night I may not have a lot of time for gym. But I always go, even if it would be a 28 minute work-out. I've discovered that's infinitely better than not going at all.

I'm lucky that I have a gym 2 minutes away from where I live and work. If I wasn't I'd have a home gym (again, infinitely better than none).

Dunno, man. I know how you feel, but I just fricking forced it into my day. Sometimes early in the morning, sometimes late in the night. It was definitely worth it, because I'm much happier now. Having a home gym and working from home definitely helps tho. Also the fact that my job isn't that busy nowadays, so I basically work out while my laptop is open and I answer emails between sets.

Prioritize what you love over what you only do because you have to and nature will find a way.

Bad form. Arms are too flared out. Bar should be over the chest and definitely not the throat. Talk about shoulder damage and possible crushed throat (also no chest activation).

On a more serious note. I don't really have a reason I want to work out. I don't care enough about myself to get back into it and I'm not looking to get a gf/wife, so what do I care? If I die earlier than normal, then so be it.

    >1 hour travel to work
    >9 hours at work (muh 1 hour lunch break)
    >1 hour travel back
    >1 hour to go shop or check car + some time time to relax
I have estimated that, after a full day of work I have around 2 hours energy that lasts during the first 2 hours of coming home.
If I can start the workout within those 2 hours, I can get a decent set of exercises in. Maybe even some free time for games/books later.
However, if I spend those first 2 hours fricking around on the computer I end up too tired to do a late night workout. Only loud music can make up for that and only sometimes.
30+ just leaves you with less energy.

It's weird to me that no one has mentioned that... you don't need to work out that much during the week.

Go saturday and sundays. Then you only need to find an hour during the week. Don't tell me you can't find an hour during the week. This is a three week program which is acceptable and will yield results and much more than most people do.

    >Oh but my commute (and I'm a moron)
Make the gym a stop in your commute and find a place close to work or your home in your route. And pack and carry whatever gear you need.

    >Oh but I can't change into wokout clothes (and I'm a moron)
Any gym, even without lockers will let you quickly change somewhere as long as your not flashing your dick.

Even if you only want to go twice, lets say kickboxing and BJJ classes, you can catch one during the week and one during the weekend, and if you're lucky, two during the weekend.

I legitimately don’t understand how someone working a 9-5 CAN’T find the time to workout. I work a far more time intensive job that usually sees me working from 7 to 4 or 5, and I still find the time to workout, do hobbies, have fun with friends and always get a full nights sleep.

Tbh, I’m not surprised people who work “wage slave” jobs are shit at managing their time and like to settle for mediocrity, since if the opposite was true, and they were good at time management, planning, and had high ambitions beyond senseless dopamine highs, they’d almost certainly never have ended up in a “wage slave” job.

i work 65-75hrs per week and have done so for more than a year straight now. you just need to be more efficient with your time, reduce time spent on unneccecary activitys schedule things closer together reduced commute as much as possible. its not that hard if you are seriously committed to but a lot of people claim to be and then give up when they reach even the smallest of obstacles. my training has changed I've went from double stacked ppl 6x per week to full body 4x per week. it doesn't take that much time to get volume in its just very tiring trying to get 10 exercises each with 3 sets in less than an hour.

Most people who do workout most days with full times and families have sleep deprivation. You’ll never find anyone who gets a full ten hours a night. The meme of 8 hours is complete horse shit. Just look at the amount of coffee 8 hour gays needs to function. It’s becuase they are sleep deprived. If you wake up before 7 and are going to bed after 10, you are not getting enough sleep.

Fact of the matter is work takes up far too much time. Sleep is more important than people realize and we are not able to prioritize health. Well maybe when we retire we will get that chance. Until it’s time to work until exhaustion.

I couldn't stay in bed for more than 7 hours if I tried. I also meditate for around 45 mins every day, which typically reduces the volume of sleep people need (assuming it's done properly).

    >wake up at 6
    >get to work normally before 7, which includes getting ready, making/eating breakfast, and driving there
    >leave work after 8 hours, around 15:00 typically
    >go to the gym for up to 2 hours
    >get home around 17:00
This routine still leaves me with like 4-5 hours of free time in the evening. I guess biggest takeaway is don't have a long commute or other bullshit that eats into your down time

    >9-5

I fricking wish. I work from 7:30am to 6pm, but I still work out 2 hours a day.

    7am: wake up
    7:35: roll in to work
    6pm: leave work
    6:30-7:30: make/eat dinner
    8pm: arrive at gym
    10pm: leave gym
    10:30pm: shower
    11pm-12am: read then sleep.
