I do cross hammer curls with 55lb (5 sets of 10). I have no issue from them

Neutral grip does not put the bicep tendon in a compromised position. It's a hundred times less likely to tear doing neutral grip movements.
You can safely do heavy HCs with a bit of momentum to get the weight up and focus primarily on the squeeze at the top and the 2-4 second eccentrics.
I switched to hammer curls after I sprained my wrist doing bicep curls.

had a grade I tear on my pec after doing weighted dips
was back in action in 2 weeks (took 1 week rest and 1 week slowly increasing load)
