    HIT works best for natties where strength= size pretty much. But for roided bodybuilders who dont necessarily need to get stronger to grow and can recover enough to hit the same bodypart 2-3x per week no problem, high volume makes way more sense. Obviously when mentzer was roided and competing he was training volume as thats optimal for bodybuilding. HIT is good for natties and people relatively new to the gym it will get you stronger fast

        Yea most of them CAN move huge weight but they opt for lighter weight with more control or machines. Thats exactly what I just said. Very few bodybuilders are doind straight up HIT, mostly a combination of a few heavy sets then volume afterwards

It comes down to Israetel nitpicking about things people in general were wrong about in the 80's, just using a bunch of red herrings (and even mistakes ray mentzer for mike mentzer), plays an ad for his program, just kvetches over the low volume approach, and alludes to some studies yet doesn't link them or bring them up by name so that people can't criticize the studies because his brand is built around volume and his videos only exist to shill his coaching.

      If you really want to shill your coaching mike, maybe you should just buy an ad.

      So if mike mentzer had trained like mike israetel recommends he would have ended up looking like mike israetel. If israetel trained like mentzer recommended he would look like mentzer. You will also look like mentzer if only you train like mentzer recommends.

            Good genetics for muscle building take you a long way. Speaking of that, he has never isolated the forearms in any of his training routines yet got his forearms. Genes will take you a long way if you have the right ones. The diet, programming, and cycles are only there to allow your body to maximize everything.

          His entire career in the 70's was reducing volume and frequency on his AB routine. He started with twice per week with one or two sets per exercise, then reduced it 1.5 times per week on a MWF with only one set per exercise and then adjusted everything further when he started training clients. However, he took all his sets to failure, did the pre-exhaust supersets, used the exact same exercises he recommended in similar orders, did forced negatives with his brother and so on.

          The claim that he never trained the way he taught is only true in that he didn't train with once per week or lower frequency, and that he didn't organize the exercises he did according to the PPL format (Heavy Duty I) or the chest/back - legs - shoulders/arms - legs format (Heavy Duty II ideal routine) which were routines developed to be ideal routines to account for what he saw with his clients. Those concerns excepted, he trained in the manner he taught.
