        almost everyone. it's pretty universally agreed upon that 500kcal deficit is the "go to". now if you don't calculate the olive oil you cook your eggs in etc. and it's realistically a 360 calorie deficit.

        i used to advocate for it too but im honestly not sure anymore. i had a while back 3 year break from training, literally did not do any sort of activity for 3 years. got back into the gym and in like matter of weeks, maybe month or so i was back to repping 1/2/3/4. i mean muscle memory is so incredibly strong that it doesnt make much sense to cut for a year straight, be on constant deficit, make zero gains and feel like shit when you could just lose it faster and get back to where you started in like couple of weeks when you switch back to maintenance.

        If you only have like 5-10lbs to drop then i guess i'd still prefer the small deficit and taking it slow but if you are higher bodyfat just do as big of a deficit as you possibly can without failing. the strength and muscles you lose are minimal anyways and the gains you lose come back.

    You know how dogs swallow stuff whole? If you break a treat up into little pieces and give them one at a time dogs get tricked into thinking they got a whole bunch. Do that. Cut that fricker into quarters or eighths, savor a little piece and put the rest of it away so you can have another little piece later.
