>takes fingernail
>places it gently against gums
>firmly scrapes up
>plaque gone
wow
why not use floss string?
Plaque is the slimy film on your teeth. OPs pic is tartar buildup.
That hardly works. If you want to take care of it yourself you use a pick like this. Trouble is, the rough texture remaining on your tooth actually allows plaque to form again more rapidly. A dentist will polish it with his tools to prevent this. Still, a dental pick is a good tool to have at home even though the dental israelite tries to discourage it.
>comes back in a week
wow
>week
You have to remove plaque daily if you don't want tartar to form.
do you also not wipe every time you shit?
use baking soda
In other words, just use toothpaste.
>don’t eat sugar or carbs
>plaque formation is now impossible
People sleep on this or shill or slide.
Since I tried this method, no more tooth aches or any further decay. It all completely stopped for the last 5+ years.
Fruits? Vegetables?
>Fruits?
Some fruits benefit your teeth despite the sugar, some compounds inside of them.
>Vegetables?
Not enough carbs to feed teeth-rotting bacteria. Drink water and it's gone.
You don't need to, I got compliments on my teeth while taking K2 and doing nothing more. All I did was rinse my mouth with water whenever I ate carbs.
plaque is literally bacteria, sugar and carbs only accelerate the growth you cant stop it unless you get your teeth removed.
diet soda still contains phosphoric acid which promotes bacterial growth in the mouth, and *can* decay enamel. but that part is mostly determined by genetics.
Especially oats causes this
I've noticed this. Mega accelerates plaque buildup and it would make my breath stink too.
Brushing doesn't help. Flossing does.
Of course brushing helps, the issue is it doesn't clear plaque near and beneath the gum line, or between the teeth. That's why you need floss and interdental picks.
You can only remove plaque at home, tartar (calculus) has to be done by a hygienist, so the abrasiveness of your toothbrush is irrelevant
>diet soda
Irrelevant. At most that'll be a mild acid. Bacteria can't feed on diet soda
So should I brush at night instead of morning? Will that help? No I will not brush twice a day
if ur only going to do one then yes night is better
You should brush anytime you eat food, and it can be a quick brush. The purpose of brushing, like flossing, is to dislodge pieces of food. The purpose of brushing isn't to coat your teeth with some magic paste. You can brush with water, floss, never use toothpaste and as long as you don't breath through your mouth or sleep with your mouth open you will have perfect teeth
>never use toothpaste
Why? I've never heard anyone say this
he's saying that brushing and flossing by itself will keep your teeth in excellent condition
but with that said, fluoride toothpaste is still a great aid to keep your teeth healthy and strong
>when they give you the fluoride stare
you're not supposed to swallow the paste, dummy
Fluoride still gets into your body even if you dont swallow it, toothbrush cause micro abrasions on your gums to allow fluoride a fast track to your brain and pineal gland. Dont use fluoride paste
>Irrelevant. At most that'll be a mild acid. Bacteria can't feed on diet soda
Pouring acid on your teeth that softens enamel? Hardly irrelevant. Acid from the bacteria is what causes caveties.
not doing your stupid fortnite dance, zoomer
Go see a hygienist? I get a scale and polish every other year. My teeth are too close together to floss effectively.
Underrated
Millionaires are able to afford teeth cleaning at the dentist
You should just become rich
I’m not a millionaire and my employer healthcare covers dental. Just don’t be a NEET
I'm a NEET who goes to the dentist once every ~5 years (I have coverage for more but don't use it). I brush and floss regularly, don't smoke, and have a clean diet.
Only had 1 cavity in my life and dentists remark every time about my great oral health, Apparently I am blessed with very strong enamel.
Strong enamel + favorable oral microbiome.
just brush your teeth (ideally twice a day, but dolphinitely at night before bed) and floss a couple of times per week. I typically have my teeth cleaned at the dentist at most once per year, and haven't really had any issues with cavities as an adult. it's really not so hard, bros
>dolphinitely
There is not a single dentist on the planet that will tell you this, but 80% of tooth decay is caused by mouth breathing
>got three cavities in the span of a year
Frick bros I dont even eat a lot of sugar. I drink a lot of diet soda though. I also only brush once a day.
Buy toothpaste with hydroxyapatite
See if you can get your teeth sealed - had that done when I was 16 and have never had cavities. I smoked and drank energy drinks all the time from 16-24 and had no mouth issues. I only brushed once a day.
I brush maybe 3 times a week and mine are no where near as bad as the "slight". Feeling pretty good
My gums are enflamed ever since I got covid.
My plaque stopped once I began taking vitamin K2. Of course you also have to brush your teeth everyday and not eat a ton of garbage, especially refined carbs like sweets or sugared sodas.
Never had a cavity, andI brush and flush twice a day with a bicarbonate based tootpaste, followed by a mouthwash in the evening also with bicarbonate.
I still have a buildup and get my teeth cleaning at the dentist twice a year to keep it in check.
That's a symptom of malnourishment.
Dental hygienist cleans scraps it off in few mins. Once a year or two at most.
>Eat carnivore
>Never brush teeth
>Never have tooth problems
Modern problems require pre-modern solutions
What about all the meat fibers that are rotting between your teeth?
The bacteria in your mouth that decomposes the food actually originates in the stomach. Don't eat carbs and this bacteria won't accumulate in your mouth.
Usually the meat fibers are pretty easy to pick out with just your fingers
just eat them the next morning
sonic toothbrush, already a year without needing to have my teeth cleaned at the dentist
>already a year
I have literally never ever had to do this
33yo, zero cavities ever
>teeth cleaned = cavities
moron? moron.
why the hell would you need your teeth cleaned at a dentist?
are you a child incapable of brushing well?
I have never even heard of this and anon is acting like a year of not doing it is significant
>entered the thread about tartar
>"why are you people talking about the thing I know nothing about?"
Post teeth.
Gotta go fast
Which model do you use?
Buy an electric scaler on amazon, they work well
floss
Genetics and Diet > Brushing and oral care
change my mind
>Doesn't floss properly (likely not at all)
>Doesn't brush properly
You reap what seeds you sow
>saves your teeth
this will help with the calculus.
as long as you're not a moron it will help scrape or maintain it
>Someone who who is susceptible to it
Sam you homosexual calm down. God I hate newbies if I were at a con I'd remember the classic webm of this guy bumping into people, and I'd just smile and wink at the camera knowing it's banter. What a fricking loser. I thought he was chill.
it's literally apart of the skit. you really think the first videos were "real" too? sad!
This tends to form on my teeth but just brushing with more might once in a while always does the job.
>more might
I don't think you're actually supposed to press down super hard, it is not good for your gums. just be consistent with brushing, and fairly diligent in brushing each area of your teeth.
also just fyi -- it is best not to brush within 30-60 minutes of eating or drinking stuff, especially if it is something acidic like coffee. you will end up removing your tooth enamel, which will cause you problems over time.
It's funny how i haven't been to a dentist in years, never floss, brush once a day, eat chocolate almost daily and still dont have a lot of noticeable plaque or any tooth pain. Almost like you're all a bunch of homosexuals.
>go to dentist once a year
>no more plaque
oh wow
>go to a dentist once a year
>every time the motherfricker wants to drill perfectly fine teeth just because
Nah, I'll trust in my stack of D3,K2, Calcium and Boron.
Same, I didn't go for 6 years, then went and no difference except a bill and them wanting to do useless, harmful and costly procedures that at least I can refuse but I have to argue against these gays
>NOOOOOOO IT'S GOING TO GET WORSE!!!!!
See ya next year
>NOOOOOOO THIS TIME YOU HAVE TO DO IT IT'S GONNA GET WORSE
>*6 years pass, nothing happens
Frick I only go in the off-chance that there is actually something happening that I don't notice myself, but it seems it's all a fricking scam.
>actually need a root canal done
>tooth is fine
>move to a new city and get a new dentist
>new dentist tells me i need to get the tooth grinded and put a crown on despite it feeling fine
>say whatever and get it done
>go into next checkup after crown is in
>tell dentist that my tooth next to the crown is a little sore
>first reaction is to tell me i need a crown on the sore tooth
>tell him ill just see how it plays out
>soreness goes away eventually
>everything is fine for about a year
>old crown falls out
>dentist wants $800 to remold the crown
>say frick that and just order dentist glue off Amazon for like $40 and reglued the crown back on
dentists are a step above chiropractors
My dentist doesn't believe in drilling and pulling out teeth for no good reason if it's still possible to prevent damage. So when he actually said I needed to have a wisdom tooth pulled I actually believed him.
A shame there's so few of them out there.
I eat like absolute dogshit like gummy worms and energy drinks yet I've never had this. I brush, floss, and rinse twice a day. You're just disgusting
Novice
>electric toothbrush, flossing
Disciplined
>No carbs
Ascended
>Not swallowing saliva for long time
Floss before you brush
brush before you floss
rinse with 3% hydrogen peroxide, you are welcome
>xhe eats plants
NGMI
0 carb
Oil pulling combined with Xylitol rinse and normal brushing
And holy frick for the love of god floss.
There. Most of your cavity is fricked or gone.
I've never even had the slight amount of plaque this pic shows
How the frick do you get past that into the severe territory?? What kind of absolute toxic waste are you eating
I had the severe form as a child. I was autistically picky when it came to food. I would basically only eat bread, cereal, potato chips, beans, broccoli, spinach, kool-aid, soda, corn, and potatoes.
Never happened to me and i’m over 30
Just brush your teeth every day?
Waterpic
Brush
Mouthwash.
Floss multiple times per day.
My dentist charges $90 cash for an annual cleaning. No insurance required.
floss your teeth, its a great way to remove plaque before it hardens into calculus
Move the floss up and down against your teeth letting it pick up and remove the plaque
Putting the floss between your teeth and just moving it up and down doesn't do shit other than make your gums bleed, its important that the floss scrapes your teeth free of plaque
Floss after every meal and see how much plaque and tartar you have build up
I'm honestly surprised my teeth didn't have any major issues when I struggled to brush my teeth in the past. I was just a NEET and didn't really give a shit lol.
Now I take care of them b***hes like my life depended on it. And yes, I did go to a dentist and my teeth are fine. I guess not eating sugar while being a NEET helped. teeth are just yellow but hopefully in a few months, they're bright white.
dont listien to the idiots telling you to use mouthwash
https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0020653923004550
mouthwash is the devil, look it up
>Not using baking soda
ngmi
Baking soda is good, but only if you've already had the gunk cleaned out. From there it's just maintenance.
someone redpill me on the dental industry
the majority of dentists are shitheads just trying to make money. your teeth can be perfectly fine and will lie about your teeth being bad.
always make sure you know what you're getting into.
Besides that, they probably won't tell you the dangers of mouth breathing and shit either but you should already know that.
If you find a great dentist, be grateful.
There is no way that shit can build up if you floss once nad brush twice a day and do it properly
Like I’m certain that it requires for the plaque to being there for weeks undisturbed for this to happen
I don’t belive for a second that genetics enable this shit to appear from nowhere
>brush twice per day
>first brushing the morning after breakfast
>second brushing before sleep, no eating or drinking anything but water after
>floss right before the second brushing
>go to a dentist for scaling, sandblasting, and (optionally) fluoridation once or twice per year
That's it, objectively. Teeth health is a solved issue, been for decades now. If you develop cavities as a young adult, you're unironically low IQ. It's actual a good universal measure of human worth, if you have shitty teeth, you're clearly subhuman and should never be taken seriously. I can understand kids getting them if they have shitty low IQ parents that never stressed the importance of teeth health. I can understand old fricks with no education and access to resources in their youth. But as a present day young adult, no excuse.
Laziness has nothing to do with IQ you homosexual. This just shows how stupid you are. You cant even draw logical conclusions
You're the homosexual with rotting teeth, know your place.
You floss before the FIRST brushing in the evening and you brush your teeth BEFORE breakfast
It makes no sense to brush after eating and it’s objectively the best way to clean teeth that you empty out the gunk from between your teeth before you brush
>You floss before the FIRST brushing
Why would you floss your teeth after sleep? There's no food to be stuck between your teeth at that point. You floss before sleep to get rid of all the food you ate during the day.
>It makes no sense to brush after eating
It does, you brush your teeth after breakfast to get rid of the gunk from eating it. It's not really enough to justify flossing at this point and it keep your teeth clean until dinner.
>it’s objectively the best way to clean teeth that you empty out the gunk from between your teeth before you brush
Yes, which is why you floss before the second brushing.
My dentist office asked me for $4500 the other day. That's more than my car costed me. Dentists are surgeons that have somehow made a "career" out of abusing people's trust to get them to pay them for mutilating their teeth.
