    non-responder genes are real

    The usual causes are
    >not lifting enough (e.g. lifting 3 days a week for 30 minutes or less)
    >trash routine (e.g. doing machines and meme lifts from TikTok instead of proven compound lifts)
    >not actually trying to progress (e.g. loading the same weight every week and never pushing yourself)
    >trash diet (not enough protein, not enough micronutrients, bulking/cutting too aggressively, etc.)
    >not getting enough quality sleep

Even if you think none of these apply to you, one or more probably does and you're not being honest with yourself.

Not eating is 99% of skinny guys problems, opposite is true for fatasses on cuts.

yeah this I made no progress for my first year because I did 3 days a week PPL in my apartment gym only having access to dumbbells and a very misweighted cable machine. I did lose like 80lbs but I just looked skinnyfat at the end because I failed to build muscle while dropping the fat since my progress was more focused on diet at the time.

now I go to a real gym and still do 3 days a week but I do full body with compounds, my workouts went from taking a half hour to 90 minutes. Even then my lifts weren't going up until I went from doing 3 sets per major lift to 4 sets per major lift. There's no such thing as non-responders, some people need more volume than others though and I definitely have bad genetics but the only solution to that is to just lift more to make up for it.

      >trash diet (not enough protein, not enough micronutrients, bulking/cutting too aggressively, etc.)
This is it. Last time I got big, I was living with my mom and eating full piled plates of food for every meal. Now I live alone and trying to get big again on the miserly ass meals I make myself just doesn't work.

It is not that hard to hit appropriate macros even if you're broke/lazy. Protein powder as a supplement obviously, but you could just eat a shitload of eggs/cottage cheese/milk and that usually covers it. Calorie-dense foods are everywhere for bulking purposes. Unless you're just so broke you can't afford protein rich foods or enough food at all, in which case you have bigger problems than getting a proper bulk in.

        >had a PT ONCE who gave up on me

        >at my prime at 23 at 17% I still had these hips and breasts despite only being 72kg at 6’
        >haven’t had fast food since 2018. Still pudgy and soft
        >haven’t hit 1/2/3/4 agtwr nearly 6 yrs
        >gyno, wide hips. Lethargy,
        >don’t wanna write it off as a disease just HEG but… I was obese as a kid up until 14 and had anorexia to lose it. So maybe I just yanked my hormones after all the years of abuse my body went thru. My only hope next year is to move out of Australia and get prescribed test bc docs here are cucks. I won’t kms until 30

make sure you eat enough protein. you could bulk if you want, just don't do it for too long and do it very slowly. you want to be lean for the journey, not fat

two possibilities, either you did get results, but you're a bit fat so you can't see it. Or you didn't eat enough, especially protein, or didn't sleep well enough, or didn't work out hard enough. Or low testosterone

When people claim to be non responders, do they not get stronger? If you progress in your lifts you cannot be a non responder.

      Anonymous

Non-responder is just a relative term, like a program was tested for x weeks and they didn't gain strength or lean mass in that time. It doesn't mean they can literally never gain ever, that generally wouldn't even make sense unless you have some kind of rare disease. It's probably more like a super low responder.

Non-responders are bullshitting you friend, they do not exist, they're like "I'm fat but don't eat" people. The principles of physiology are well established for like a hundred years now.

Body dysmorphia and female optics have ruined generations of men.
You've got twinks being worshipped because they just don't eat and stay shredded and you've got turbo fatties who think they are tiny when after five years of lifting they have almost doubled in mass.

There are precisely two reasons why your training is ineffective:
    1) you aren't training hard enough
    2) you're training too frequently

note that it's 1) for 99.99999% of people. most people never go close to actual muscle failure, they just give up and call it failure.

    >bulk
    >get fat
    >cut
    >lose gains

I've been doing this for about 5 years. I bulked last year and got stronger but also got fat, so now I;ve been cutting from the start of the year and juts hit 15%bf but lost most of my gains. I think my problem was bulking too quickly. From here I'm gonna make to bulk 2 lbs per month MAX.
