>He had a heart defect. Arnie had one too but got back then elite surgery and barely made it
Isn't it coincidental how all these hardcore roid users happen to have """heart defects"""? Someone should investigate
Now post dorian yates, who was a mass moster comparing to the bodybuilders of his time.
Literally not a single person thinks menzer had it right. When someone says hugh intensity training, they mean the principles developed and explained by dorian yates (and yea, he was training one muscle group once a week, but he stated that bigger muscles need more time to recover and small guys can train way more often than he does).
>but he stated that bigger muscles need more time to recover and small guys can train way more often than he does
So did Mentzer. He said take around three rest days initially, then slowly add more over time as your strength and capacity for intensity increases and outpaces your recovery ability.
Mentzer never started beginners on HIT. He always broke them in with a basic routine with light weight and then starts introduce a progression scheme for the following few weeks while decreasing frequency where appropriate until the point where the trainee can handle the intensity.
If you want to look for it, "HIT the mike mentzer way" was in good part a revision of "Heavy Duty II." The differences in the ideal routine are subtle. Just some different rep ranges on leg day, 6-10 for squats. Though it doesn't necessarily matter so long as you go to failure and there is adequate time under mechanical tension. You recruit all muscle fibers anyways when taking an exercise to failure whether it is in 6 reps or 30 reps. It's just more time efficient to do it in 6 reps than in 30 and you won't have to deal with the lactic acid burn nearly as much.

That's what he changed it to from 8-15 for legs? Or that's what it was before he changed to 8-15?

Fun fact; It's called lactate and it's actually a buffer for fatigue
He was changing ehat he was preaching all the time. If you don't weight 100kg of lean mass, you can do high intensity, dorian yates style twice a week without any issues.
Mentzer was a contrarian who grew with high volume, but then went nuts. He was trying to persuade dorian to train even less.
Sometimes I feel like you guys have serious body dismorphia. He got fricking jacked working out a fraction of the time less than everyone else on that stage and had a world class physique.
Back when I was a kid I had a old bodybuilding book with all the exercises and pros routine. This was before the internet was big, so unless you were around then or read history in magazines and shit, you probably only knew arnold and lou. Anyways, I remember looking at the pictures and thinking Mike had the best physique and wanting to look like him.
>that ' damn I forgot my meth at home' stare
>more like high tren taking
This guy died from heart attack

His legs look really big here. And people say today's classic physiques have too much leg.

the thing is that he said that it was more effective than high frequency and volume training.
The guy in the middle is the only one that doesn't have comically large biceps compared to his triceps. Biceps ruin physiques.
>static images
The thickness doesn't really come through with some cameras and stills.
Dudes triceps were insane
Someone post the webm of based Dorian denying the holocaust

Absolutely zero hesitation. What an absolute alpha.
Who cares they are all roidtrannies. Routine does not matter when you're on gear.
