Fights in the US are completely different to fights in other parts of the world because you guys often have wrestling experience or know how to tackle from football, both things are completely unheard of elsewhere. That's probably why you instinctually go for what you have learned and take it to the ground, but in probably 200 fights I have seen in Europe I've almost never seen anyone do that intentionally, except for those that did have some grappling experience from some martial arts. What I've encountered was almost always boxing or kickboxing, if they had any fighting background at all.
Every "fight" video I see from Europe is just some refugee doing the most brazen shit to people while nobody, including the police, do anything about it.
That's because people don't record all the proper fights outside bars. They also don't get much attention in general unless many people are involved.

I have been going out regularly for over 21 years and I've been involved in the nightlife for work for 15 years. There were times when people would gather outside of clubs and wait for others to fight them every single night the clubs were open. Some people who weren't even patrons of the clubs would arrive after closing time looking for fights. If you consider I've probably been out around 2000-2500 times my estimate of seeing a fight every 10th night or so seems very reasonable.
Where is that? I see a fight maybe 1 in 100 times I go out in Sweden
Mostly in the Frankfurt area but it obviously depends on the clubs and bars. There are many clubs with a strict door policy where rarely anything happens but the people that get turned away there always end up somewhere else where they just let everyone in and those are usually the places where fights happen or they don't get in anywhere and start fights out of frustration. Combine that with a massive red light district and a drug problem and fights are a common sight.

Maybe it's because I don't go to bars and all that but I legitimately don't think I've witnessed a fist fight since I got out of high-school. Used to fight like every week in gradeschool years ago but yeah. Worked retail for like 2 years and yelled at people trying to be uppity in the store but no one ever actually tried to fight me, or any other circumstance. Maybe it's because I'm 6'1 and 210lbs.

I mean I just didn't indulge in much else. The weekdays were reserved for education or work and virtually no entertainment and then on the weekends I would see friends and go to bars. If there is such a thing as work-life-balance that's what it meant to me. I don't think I wasted my life away doing that because I didn't really waste much time with any of the things other people do during the week. Later I did a little bit of bouncing, managed 2 clubs and did consultancy work for nightclubs, so even if I wasn't going out I was still in that environment.
