>A glass a day keeps the doctor away! Your life expectancy is about 0.8 years shorter than those who have approximately one drink a day.
lol
Alcohol propaganda. I'd love for a proper explanation of how alcohol "in moderation" (not real, just like bigfoot) actually improves your health, rather than anecdotal evidence or evidence that only sees corrolation with no explanation.
Recent genetic studies seem to suggest that any alcohol is bad for you
>putting any stock at all into some website slapped together by a random goober
life expectancy is a population level average; trying to sus a number out for any specific person is an educated guess at best
>do you smoke?
>yes
>how much?
>lowest option is half a fricking pack a day
I smoke like a pack a month, if that. Do people really smoke multiple packs per day on the regular?
Same like 2-3 roll ups a day for me couldn’t do any more would make me feel sick
Frick that. Hopefully not for too long.
Everyone I know above 70 is a fricking wreck, physically as well as mentally.
>Select never married
>Estimated is 89 years
>Select married
>Estimated is 98 years
Bros...
That's how it be tho
MGTOW btfo'd
Most MGTOW dudes are nihilists that don't take care of themselves and want to live the fast hyperconsoomer coomer life.
>9 more years to live hell on earth
No thanks I'll pass.
I'm not sure where they get these numbers, go down to the old folks home the women outnumber the men like 8:1.
Women live longer than men.
Married men live longer than unmarried men.
Being lonely/lacking intimacy is actually pretty terrible for your health
https://extension.unh.edu/blog/2022/05/prolonged-social-isolation-loneliness-are-equivalent-smoking-15-cigarettes-day
I feel like shit, I have insomnia and more anxiety than I should. The root cause is loneliness. It's not that I don't go out or have any friends, I do, but I don't feel close to any of them.
I blame western and especially American culture. Human beings were supposed to live in small tight knit communities. Not atomized into individuals that can fit wherever capitalism needs us to go to generate the most profit.
>don’t feel close to them
I too know this feel. Idk what to do about it. There ARE people you would feel connected to and you and I should probably try and make new friends, but this is not so easy
>Make new friends
You're right that it's not easy
My strategy is to move a lot. I move every 2-3 years on average and have lived in 6 different states. One day I hope that I'll meet people that make me want to stick around
>Widowed, divorced, or even separated
>92 years
>Even getting divorce raped will yield a better life expectancy than never getting married
Better to have loved than never loved at all
again, its kinda skewed because of math. The group that gets married is a group of mostly boomers (older generation that preferred marital stability), and group of singles is a group that includes undesirables. It stands to reason that people how have diseases die earlier (morbid obesity, any kind of serious problem really), and those people tend to have problems finding a spouse.
If you were to select people who get married from our cohort, versus healthy singles, the difference would be much smaller
>2-7 drinks with alcohol per week makes you live longer
What kind of israeli bullshit is this?
teetotalers tend to be more lonely than drinkers, then see
Also in these studies I don't think they usually distinguish the reason the non-drinkers avoid alcohol and so people who abstain for serious health reasons that shorten their life expectancies anyway drag down the alcohol-free population average.
I will never die
I've seen my grandpa and father go out with dementia. I DON'T want to live to be as old as they were. Having moments of lucidity where I realize my dignity and life have been stripped from me? Not knowing where I am? God what a fricking nightmare. I'm good.
88 but I am sure it will be longer, 3 of my grandparents lived longer than that (the other smoked and died of lung cancer).
I got 72
