Am I ok or should I take fin, rosemary oil or minoxidil

I've read that rosemary oil helps but a lot of people say that fin is better. The hair on the sides is getting thinner, I don't wanna go bald bros

Pic related was taken in February, my hair are longer now but you can see how it looks

      Bro you’re not even receding
Guessing you’re in your early 20s and your hairline moved back a bit? That’s called maturing. It will almost certainly stop there for 10 years
Plus you have long thick hair so you would notice it thinning and be losing fricking handfuls in the shower for months before there was a problem
Basically stop being paranoid, you’re absolutely fine

        >Bro you’re not even receding
Because I hide it with my long hair, otherwise it clearly looks receded
Usually spent easily 20 minutes to properly ties them so it doesn't shows
        >Guessing you’re in your early 20s and your hairline moved back a bit? That’s called maturing. It will almost certainly stop there for 10 years
        Yes, I'm almost 22
But my brother is 26 and has been Norwood 4 since he's 22 (and we're pretty similar except he's bigger than me)
My dad is also bald (norwood VII/VA), same for basically everyone on my dad's side (grandpa and uncle are completely bald)
        >losing fricking handfuls in the shower
I loose a LOT but i think it's because I only wash them once/twice a week and don't brush it, but hair everywhere on my shirts and bed sheets
        .
Using this pic I'm a norwood 2 from the side and a Norwood 1 from the top

you're a solid norwood 2. to maintain that or possibly improve, you NEED to start with finasteride or dutasteride. natural treatments don't work, despite all the morons online claiming otherwise. the studies support this.

This post is my open request to the janitors to allow us to keep the hair loss general threads up. This would improve IST in two ways:
        1. all hair loss talk contained to one thread. By all means, nuke all hair loss threads outside the general.
        2. we can have an FAQ that precludes posts like the one I am replying to and that prevents IST from being clogged up with the same five hair loss questions multiple times a day.

        >Unironically try it and report back. One guy a year or so ago had good results with just combing and derma rolling and nothing else.
I've seen scalp massages work very well for some people and increasing the thickness of their hair growth. I think a lot of guys are losing their hair due to tight muscles and poor circulation. The massages are perfect solutions and also help lower stress for a while - another great help in hair condition. I've seen examples of baby hairs coming in and baby hairs going to thick hairs, etc.

Derma rolling is something proven to work for men and women. Seen it work over and over again. It helps with skin condition, eyebrows, beards and scalp. The only thing you need to do is make sure you use a CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN roller each time. Sterilize it before and after with something like 70% alcohol to be extra sure.

The other important thing with these is to be CONSISTENT. You cannot do it now nad then or forget. You need to stick to your schedule. Every time. Full routine every time done right. Week in week out, etc. Of course the same thing goes for any ongoing treatments but people need to remember this for best results.

It'll give you the best of what you can have and make your Norwood stage look better.

Who told you that? Most men go bald if they live long enough to do so (it hardly counts if you die before middle age or during it). It's very much the minority who keep their hair into advanced ages.

I've known a single man who kept his virtually full hair to retirement with color and it was a bit graying and getting diffuse thinning (like women do in old age).

exactly, what the frick are us guys meant to do that were heavily balding in college, just give up? I'd rather take my chances

Honestly the answer to this angst is to stop fricking around and settle down with someone you can keep for life and aim for that. Once you have a wife and/or kid you won't care as much about it. The idea that guys can't get a wife if they don't have a perfect juvenile hairline is obviously laughable as it's incredibly rare men would and plenty men get married with various states of hairloss IN THE REAL WORLD. Sadly people spend too much time looking at celebrities or the internet which is full of social media bullshit and fantasy.

Dude, get rid of the mole, now. It doesn't "add character", it just makes you look uncanny. It's not even in a spot where you at least sometimes expect ugly moles. As said, it's not "actively ugly" like high norwood, it's just uncanny.

Lot of guys are in the same situation, OP. It will happen to most men sooner or later. You're still very early and it could go very slowly and stabilise for periods before going again. You can try the treatments but you'll be on them for life. You can try derma rolling which does help some, a bit better than minoxidil alone. It'll give you a few more years of hair.

Eventually if you are prone it will go if you don't do treatments and transplants and lifetime medicines.

Alternatively you can wait until it's receeded enough and then get a hair system/piece. You can get a real hair one custom done that will look really good and won't have medical side effects that the medicines you take or apply can have and obviously a hair piece is basically a long term solution in that you can do it forever and keep maintaining or replacing it.

With the pills and stuff you're fighting the battle and slowing the loss and putting in that work non stop in the hopes of it lasting.

It's your choice and some paths suit other people better. I think the hair system gets overlooked a lot though. Especially by people who consider getting transplants.

There's also scalp micropigmentation that works pretty good for guys that like their shaved head but want the look of a nice hairline.

You get different strengths of fin prescribed depending upon your needs. Consult whomever gave you the prescription to see if you can move up to a stronger dose. You may find though that you are just not a good responder to it.

You didn't answer though if you're doing anything else? Dermarolling helps regrowth. Minoxidil is another chem that helps REGROWTH. Sold under Rogaine brand usually but other places and brands have it and avaliable as generic. You can get oral minoxidil too. RU(long number) can also help with regrowth but that is black/grey market only and mystery side effects.

Shedding is normal with fin, especially early on. It can be a long (6+month) process to see results so wait it out, so long as the sides are non-existent or manageable.

  24. 11 months ago

You can try topical Saw Palmetto and other topical DHT blockers. Many are mild but it depends on what you need.

ru58841 is another option. Rather experimental though and so you've got the risk that comes with it, but it does seem to work. It's another thing though that you are stuck with using if you start it as it will cause dramatic fall to your starting point when you come off it (as documented by MPMD).

  25. 11 months ago

I know it's not something people consider as you want "your" hair by any chem or surgery possible but I want to point out that the hair systems with human hair can be color matched perfectly to your natural tones, realistic varied and age appropriate hairlines, hair that can look right for your race or style desires.

Lot of examples of what you can get with them online and YT. They can be partial or full pieces depending on how much help you need. I know guys who get solid compliments and attention with them on. Cost is probably not any worse than what you'd spend on the medical treatments but it's got very little to go wrong with it or risks.

It's way too early for OP to get one but for guys who have got their hairline on the top of their head now like NW3 can change their look.

It's generally recommended you go in once a month for a touch up on it, about what you'd pay for the hairdresser. Up to you and whomever provides it and sets up the service and what you get with it and they recommend.

Go to a hair salon. Try to get a stylist who is receded or bald. You might be able to swing a style. The usual baseline is to cut the sides short and leave the top longer.
No matter what you do you'll be visibly balding but if you're otherwise good looking do this and hop on fin or dut now.

Same boat as you anon 21 and norwood 3 I have good density so it’s not terrible but I recommend jumping on fin and min, fin will guarantee to stop it or slow down the recession to a crawl and min might be able to regrow some of your hairline, then maybe you can start saving up for a transplant if you want more results

    - Oral Dutasteride
    - Oral Minoxidil
    - Topical Ketokonazole (Shampoo)
    - Topical Piroctone olamine (Shampoo)
    - Microneedling (Derminator 2 with 9-needle cartridge)

This works for me. My hairline was fine, but I was starting to thin at the top. I didn’t want to take any chances.
The roots on top of my scalp would hurt more than usual when pulling on my hair. Hairdressers have always told me that my hair was very thick and difficult to cut and I’d like to return to that thickness. So far there’s even been regrowth on my hairline.
