    Fasting is only healthy if you're extremely obese and out of shape. If you have muscle or are trying to build muscle, its sub optimal.

    Fasting has nothing to do with weightloss, it just means eating less meals per day. You can bulk while fasting. The tldr theory of fasting is that digestion is inflammatory, ages you and dulls your insulin sensitivity, the less you do it the better

        Bulking while fasting is insanity, you are trying to force your body to build muscle as it starts to eat itself to survive.
        Also long term fasting fricks your testosterone up, aggressive alpha predators aren't supposed to avoid eating for long periods of time unless they hibernating.

          Yeah, most of the benefits of fasting (in terms of potential longevity) are coupled with calorie restriction. Eating 4000 calories in one meal and also fasting 23 hours per day is counter productive and you can't have it both ways.

            4000 calories is extreme and should be split but skipping breakfast is still beneficial and protein can take a long time to digest if it's solid and combined with something really prebiotic like wheat

                The primary benefit of IF/OMAD isn't some mystical esoteric science, it's really just portion control; even the fattest c**t in the universe can only eat so much in a given timeframe, and the idea is that there's no way in hell you eat above your TDEE in that window, so as long as you can stick to that window, you'll lose weight.

    Fasting is only good in moderation and/or for short periods. For example, OMAD works well for a lot of people, although really that's less fasting and more a method of portion control, and Muslims only fast during certain periods and even then only during the day (eating is halal when the sun is down), but when you just plain don't eat, your body is inevitably going to start consuming itself for nutrients and energy, and when you're already Skeletus, Lord of Calcium, it'll turn to your muscles, bones, even your fricking brain eventually.
