I work out because it helps me staying a drunk. If I didn't lift I would probably be a fat frick with one foot in the grave.

I did everything. From weed and alcohol to meth and honestly? I feel like gym is my addiction now.

I do scare the normie gym goers because I always push the limit to feel the pain.

I have been diagnosed with autism, paranoid schizophrenia and antisocial personality disorder.

I actually don't think I ever met a former addict who didn't transfer their drug addiction over to some other area of their life be it working out or eating or working. Most former addicts get fat.

        Would they be alive otherwise?
I remember smoking meth and not eating, sleeping or drinking for 5 days straight, having energy to do ever, thing and getting aggressive at normies around on the street. To top it off I was weak because no sleep/eating/drinking. That was just one of many examples where I could have died. Overdose on codeine when I was 15 was also one of examples (had to manually breathe to not pass out).

I have friends with pretty girlfriends, some with kids, and they drink everyday. They always sound in a good mood. If I didn't care about working out I'd get hammered everyday

no shit but I credit lifting with getting me clean from heroin. I used to snort and smoke that shit every day, go to college, come back, get high and watch anime or play some WoW. I totally missed out on any social development in college. just biked home as fast as I could, railed some lines, made some hot tea, a hot blanket and gamed/watch anime for 5 years every night. finally, 6 months clean thanks to lifting

I got a few vicodin and take some for a buzz. I'll work out to get DOMS so I don't use what few pills I have left.

vics are nice when you have no tolerance. all opiates pretty much feel the same if you're an occasional user. hydromorphone and diamorphine/heroin are the most euphoric

I was a pretty hardcore alcoholic since 18. I'm 31 now. I always kept in shape and ate well to try to mitigate the damage but it's taken my soul and it's just not sustainable. I have been addicted to distance running and mountain biking lately. Today, I lifted for 1.5 hours before the sun came up, then went on a 6 mile run after during sunrise.

I have a long way to go but I'm 5 days sober. Longest streak before this was 3 months. We got this, bros.
