I am already 23 and considering to get braces for my crossbite as well as my slight overbite. Is it worth it? What are your experiences?

Is the overbite from your teeth or bones?
Considering the same and waiting for answers. Bookmarked and bumped
get invisalign
this
and if invisalign isn't an option, you probably really need the fricking braces
Invisalign isn't gonna fix bite issues. It will straighten the teeth but you usually need more conspicuous interventions to fix bite problems
Invisalign can be a scam if you need bands to fix alignment.
OP be careful if you need extractions, can frick up your jaw. Also you may need further cosmetic surgery if your teeth have also made up your facial development because you are older.
Good luck!
23 and braces but had them for 6 or more years
get your health insurance to cover the costs
I got Invisalign to fix some pretty bad overcrowding when I was 23. Took about two years of wearing them and now my teeth are perfectly straight and my dental hygiene is better than ever. Even my facial symmetry seems to have improved somewhat. Just don’t let them try and force the permanent retainer on you when you finish, can’t eat shit wearing that and it’s a pain to clean. Just get a nighttime retainer and put it on when you go to bed.
>jut in this picture and we'll call it the after
>OK bro
I'm fricking 27 and still with overbite
It's over
Hi OP
I'm also 23 and planning to get braces this spring when I move post-grad. More Importantly, however, I am planning to get a Lefort 1 upper jaw surgery (and hopefully sub-orbital facial implants if I can convince my surgeon). I'm expecting this will improve facial aesthetics but more importantly my smile since I tend to refrain smiling at people because I have a big fricking lower jaw
An ortho told me I need to have my jaw surgically broken, wired shut for a month, then followed by 1.5 years of braces to fix my "teeth grinding + overbite issue".
I already think most dentists are scam artists, but how legit does this sound? I just want invisalign to fix some crowding ffs
if this is what your ortho is telling you, this it is probably the best bet in the long term.
Having correct jaw placement is pretty important for TMJ issues, teeth grinding, correcting your breathing, correct chewing, migraines, and a whole lot more
As far as I can tell it's not a scam. My mom works in a dental office and told me about a case of someone who never got surgery and had their front teeth break in the mid 20's from collisions. You might be fine now, but who knows in 10 years?
if you are skeptical, maybe ask another ortho
Look that skin still hanging under his jaw . And shit jaw line. Looks less shit tho
I wore headgear in high school for a while. Probably why im so fricked up
Had them when I was 20-22. Got them off a few months into covid lockdown. Absolutely fricked my dating life and I still haven't recovered. Now I'm shredded with perfect teeth but I don't even know how to find women. Don't do it.
I had them when I was 30. One of the best decisions of my life.
I'm 23 and got braces like 7 months ago.
I had a slight overbite and my jaw placement was wonky due to my shifted molars, so I rested my jaw more on one side to the other. My profile got a bit better, because my buck teeth were hiding my already non-existent jaw; my lips look a bit smaller now as well. It's been only 7 months, but I do see changes.
Than the other*
