I have at least one patient a week who is a fatty who wants to get on a GLP-1 agonist, it’s a battle telling them they need to try diet and exercise first. There’s also a risk that some of them are going to get thyroid tumors down the line.
Is the risk of thyroid cancer a bigger health issue that continuing to be morbidly a beast? If you could cut the weightloss time down from 18 months or 12 months to 6 or 8 it might be a major motivator for them to get started and stay on track since the results would come faster.
I guess it wouldn't matter since the majority of low impulse control lardlads and lardladies would just yoyo right back up to hamplanet level once they got off the shit.

American healthcare lets a doctor write a prescription for basically anything, so you just find someone of dubious caliber to write you some shit and then insurance decides whether or not they want to pay for that. Being grotesquely obese in the United States is NOT a healthcare concern, and therefore they will not pay for it.
Im on it because of T2 beetus. Takes away any and all feelings of hunger for about a week and then you shoot up again. You could technically starve all week and wouldn't even feel it.
I get this cloying feeling in my brain and I don't know how else to describe it, but I can be doing anything and then suddenly there's this like overwhelming sense of "you need to binge eat. NOW" I can stave it off for days, I've water-fasted for 18 days before, but all I could think about was binge eating and I had to spend that entire time just sleeping and working as much as possible to physically prevent myself from binging
I've talked to therapists and doctors and shit but no one has any idea what the frick I'm talking about and tells me just not to eat as much or "don't act on impulse" it literally feels like I have schizophrenia
But, 6'2" 300lbs and I did a full blood panel and every single thing came back in the healthy range; I did the entire suite without needing to get an endocrinologist involved.
I get that too, it's definitely mental. When we are fat, most of the time the "hunger" is all mental not physical. When on this shit you dont feel the physical hunger but still get the mental hunger. You're probably used to food being a comfort thing more so than just fueling yourself. I've had to learn to adjust as well because I was having the same issue, I gave in to the "binge" thought once and felt so fricking sick and ill after that I now associate binging while on Mounjaro with sickness so I don't do it. This medication also slows down your diggestion like crazy so whatever you eat stays in you much much longer. If you binge and get super full you're going to feel like absolute shit for at least 24 to 48 hours until you diggest enough of it to not feel stuffed. A lot of weightloss stuff is all mental and how you modify your relationship with food.

I know for a fact this shit is all just mental but I’ve been telling medical professionals for years that it’s all that I think about. I make excel spreadsheets timing out food and like what fast food I’ll eat and what I’ll order for weeks at a time, down to the minute and sauce and then redo it all the next day. It’s the only thing that stops me from running out and buying the food myself. It’s a fricking sickness and it doesn’t leave my brain

I can eat 10k kcal in one sitting then do it again 2 hours later. I’ve been tempted to just lie and say I have depression but I’m scared of lying about that shit

Just search up "GLP-1a brands." There's about a dozen of them. Just keep in mind that each of them have different dose frequencies and how they absorb is slightly different, similar to comparing different types of anabolic steroids.
