Apparently weightlifting is bad for human longevity and accelerates aging

How do you explain this?

Both count as weightlift training but I bet they both have different impact on health.

As bad as it sounds, it might be true.

I had a disease in my spine which fricked me over all the past years until 30, when I realized it by accident. This bullshit ruined my test and I didn't know it cause since I probably had it from birth I never knew life different. I was able to frick, no problems in that regard, but building up muscle was hard and I was tired very often and several other issues which increased with age (the issue got more severe with age too)

Now that this issue is resolved in most parts my test went up in this time. I didn't test it but my dick is bigger than before and erection feels different, stronger, better, DESPITE higher age (now 33). On the contrary my hair is starting to shed (norwood incoming) and my face has changed a lot in the last years, albeit that can also be with becoming +30. Nontheless, I think the testboost has a play in this too.

No. The increase isn't huge, but it feels different definitely and better, more power, stronger. Even morning woods with 33 which weren't there with 25+

No the average amount of testosterone is not bad for you and doesn't accelerate aging. IIt's like sugar. If you drink 5 litres of sugary soda per day then you can say that ages you due to the sugar. Keto schizos will extrapolate that to recoil from an apple in horror like a vampire when an apple is one of the best things you could eat.

I also feel like being abusive at OP but let's face it, we've all chosen to come to a board not known for higher discussion and where anyone can join and say anything.

It's probably true but also not worth it. Imagine eunuch-maxxing to get a couple of extra years, while miserable and apathetic because of hormonal imbalance.

That's simply because Eunuchs had a higher living standard and the high amount of non-castrated people living in poverty during feudalism brings down their average.

Chronic lifting lowers testosterone, hence so many lifters with low T blood results going on TRT.

If fricking Arnold could pump test with anabolic for like 25 years straight and he's fine in his 80s (his heart issues were congenital and the same thing killed his mom) then I don't think I'm afraid of cuttings my life shorter raising my test levels by getting mildly natty buff. You know what else cuts your life short? Falling. 80% of all deaths over age 80 are associated in some way with a fall. Fall prevention in old age starts with keeping muscle mass. Checkmate.

cells can only multiply and be recycles afinite number of times. so anything that causes you to multiply or regenerate your cells will cause aging.

      Anonymous

False, otherwise we would eventually stop reproducing as a race as your gametes are cells that divided from your other cells, going back to the dawn of man. Cells have a relatively finite number of cycles AFTER a specific stage of speciation from a precursor, all the shit you don't understand but think you do is based on studies of speciated cells that are non immortal lines, like skin cells or something. If DNA wore out slowly everywhere, we'd have the accumulation of millions of years of human dna deletion as there is a continuous lineage between your current cells and those of your ancestors years ago. No, cell cycles are only finite in practice because we do not understand how to trigger redifferentiation of cells outside of the natural processes that hormones naturally trigger, but in theory it is entirely possible to be biologically immortal. I'm tired of people dunning-kruegering this shit, science should never have been something the masses think they are engaged in.

    >How do you explain this?

Easy, the guy tweeting it is either a terrible, obvious liar or a fricking moron.

The tweet says "weightlifting (which increases testosterone)," but the article is clearly about TRT. The testosterone boost from weightlifting and actually going on TRT are two totally different things.

Still though, there's another big problem here.

    >Accelerates aging, increases disease risk and reduces lifespan

And that's compared to what, who was studied for this, when, etc.?

I say that because the average man in his 20s or 30s today has lower testosterone than a man in his 50s would have 30-40 years ago.

Not to mention that LOW testosterone leads to things like weight gain, tiredness, depression, anxiety, which is a vicious cycle that leads to... increased disease risk and reduced lifespan. Probably accelerated aging too, because being fat generally makes people look older (and it makes your heart work harder, puts more strain on your joints, etc.).

Longevity and physical performance are inversely correlated after a certain point. This is indisputable at this point. There's no need to seethe over it though. Just accept your rather trade off a potential 5-10 years of your total lifespan to enjoy better performance and potential quality of life. It's not a big deal.
