Apparently whey protein powder causes hair loss and I don't want to turn to vegan powders because of oxalates and inferior protein bioavailabity. Are there any good alternatives to powders besides egg whites? I'm okay with egg whites since there are no downsides to using them as far as I know but I'm wondering if any ISTbro has any other underrated alternatives.

dude, those protein powders are as processed as white sugar. There is nothing to inhibit digestion(as if that's a bad thing - your gut bacteria gets something to eat for once)
You only need 80g of protein to build muscle unless you're on roids. So you don't need protein powders.
Protein supplements are a scam, it's all marketing
No one said the word need so I don't know who you're replying to.
At this point it's your anecdote vs his anecdote vs my anecdote vs their anecdotes. No one can really know for sure, even if I cite the studies you'll just say they're funded by people with agenda and even if I don't cite anything you'll reply with more anecdotes. I'm playing it safe and taking the studies and numerous reports to heart.
>No one can really know for sure
It's just protein anon
Semen has protein, why aren't you drinking it then. Obviously people have different goals and protein have different varying effects. For example plant based proteins usually have oxalates and animal based proteins usually have lots of cholesterol and substances that affect DHT. I wish it was as simple as protein is all the same, sadly that's not how the world works.
How can he say that if papers show no funding and/or conflict of interest?
there arent even any studies saying it causes hair loss, moron. take your meds and maybe look up what whey is and where it comes from
What kind of woman portions do you people eat where hitting 200 isn't easy as shit?
Protein powder doesn't cause hair loss.
I use MRE Lite. It's all animal based protein, but no whey. So far no issues.
>Apparently
So you don't even actually know yet already trying to find an alternative
Søÿ protein powder is a good alternative. The PDCAAS score is .99 as opposed to 1.00 for whey. Extremely marginal difference, way cheaper, and doesn’t require the raping, calf-stealing, and murder of a mother cow and her children and her children’s children etc
I thought about non-whey options but then I remember plant based stuff have oxalates and the same hormone-affecting shit as whey. I guess for now Im leaning towards egg whites, it's weird how much sodium these things have tho. 6 egg whites have 20% of your daily sodium already.
pdcaas is a meme. great deal of plant proteins take longer to digest than the more simple animal based ones. the body has less time to use the protein from pants cause it's too far along the digestive tract for the body to utilize it.
>whey causes hair loss!!!
>let me change to something else
>now IT'S causing hair loss!!!
>everything is causing hair loss!!! anything i do, i lose my hair!
just buzz it and call it a day, buddy.
I have more hair than you, I'm just taking precautions because I'm turning 30 soon. My bloodwork is perfect too. My parents and other relatives are all fat slob pieces of shit and I don't want to be like them. I want the most optimal protein intake and diet to go along with the new workout routine I'm gonna be doing. I made the mistake of exercising so fiercely back then but my diet making it all virtually useless so I want to correct that.
whey doesn't cause hairloss, dumbass.
The only thing protein powder is good for is time, and even then it's iffy, you can get chicken breast in the US for like 2$ a lb if you know what you're doing. That's like 6 scoops of protein + shitloads of nutrients and way more satiation and tastiness.

Whey protein is just processed dairy
theres nothing that can cause hair loss in it and your assumption is the same thing as saying milk cause hair loss which you dont have evidence for either of them.
