It's literally a small oven for you poor single fricks without children.

It's beneficial because I live in FL and when I use the oven it just warms up the kitchen and the rest of my apartment that I have been cooling off all day. Then my AC has to run longer to cool it down again. These frickers are more efficient for my house.

    I think it’s worth it.
Get the ninja with dual baskets, cook your chicken and potatoes at the same time, frick off to do whatever maybe check on it every 10 minutes.
Get some wax paper liners 200 for $10, makes cleaning easier (read: multiple uses before having to clean it and even then it’s a lot more manageable)

why cant you put chicken and patatoes in the same basket?

Don't you still need to drench your food in oil if you want a good crisp?

No. That's one of the big advantages of those things.

I thought the point of an ”air fryer” was to fry with just air

No. I don't add any oil.

I would recommend for certain foods to spray on some oil. Doesn’t take much. Naturally fatty foods like fries definitely no

It's just a small oven. Uses less electricity and won't heat the whole house. Convection heat works for "frying" things about as well as you'd expect (read: not very well) but it's still good. Can wrap a piece of frozen cod in foil with some veg and seasoning, pop it in for 25 min and eat over rice.

Set it up when you go to work out and it's done when you're finished. Easy. You also don't have to actively cook, you can just prep things and freeze them then just pop them in when hungry or close to being ready for food.

    FROM AN ENERGY STAND POINT,
IF YOU ONLY COOK 1 ITEM THEY ARE GOOD,
IF YOU ARE THROWING A FEW ITEMS IN,
    OVEN ALWAYS WINS,
OVER RATED IF YOU ASK ME,
    HAVE ONE, NEVER USE IT

Cook over an open fire for max taste and gains. The fires energy permeates the food and enters in through the appendix.

It's funny because you're not too far off. Even 10 years ago people still said "darwin said it was useless" but it turns out it probably protects you from infection.

More energy efficient, puts the food closer to the heating element + has a stronger fan
I've never managed to get the same crisp in an oven

I think it is worth it if you're a single man that mostly cooks 1-2 portions. You press the start button and it comes out consistently good every time

I have a family and love those fryers. They are perfect if one of my kids is hungry or for me to make the leftovers warm. Also a full pack of chicken wings is ready in like 15 minutes while it takes around 30 in the oven.

Aren't those basically the same as using convection on your regular oven, just as an extra appliance?

Do hate extra kitchen appliances though, especially if they only have 1 use case.

I dont have an oven in my house. I "boil" eggs in it and roast chicken legs and if i have a sweet tooth, apples. I have it connected to the internet so i can drop the food inside and activate it before heading home from works, so it basically removed the need for a woman for me. I roast chicken legs in it because breast are too fricking dry and tasteless, big chicken legs have some fat and skin but if you airfry it, the thing will make it drip most of the fat while keeping the flavour. Im a pig and i only clean it once a week, probably half a litre of fat in the bottom tray who didnt go to my love handles, kek.

Those kinds ate useless memes that can only do chicken tenders.

Get the larger air fryers which can do roasts, whole chixken and baked veggies.

i literally have that thing and it's the worst. Once i've tried making pizza in this thing and instead of melting the cheese it turned all of the toppings into scobs

That's not an airfryer, it's a halogen cooker and they're complete dogshit. I'd recommend a toaster oven over one of those pieces of crap.

      This thing is goated.
Whole chicken in under an hour, minimal cleaning.

    They are usefull IMHO:
    >can work as a small convection oven
    >can make fries nice and crispy without drenching them in oil
    >can make chicken nuggets without oil
    >easy to clean
    >saves energy
Pretty usefull, especialy for one or two person households.

love mine. It doesn't do anything magical, just efficient and consistent

So (in ISTness scenario) it's basically worthless for anyone with an actual oven? I usually cook chicken in batches to last me entire week. Sometimes i'll need to cook one or two breasts but i guess that regular pan will do just fine.

Chicken reheated in them is better than in a microwave but yeah. They’re useful even if you have an oven if you need to cook something else at the same time but the temp needs to be different however

My parents got one and I like to cook as a hobby. I used it once and never again. It’s not for everyone. Unless you’re making something specific all the time I’d say it’s not worth it.

You can make boiled eggs in an air fyer. 375 heat set it up for 5~7 minutes. It's alot less hassle having to fill up a pot and boil the water

It's just another stupid utensil that takes up space. If you want something versatile that you will use all the time get a convection oven or a convection oven microwave.

The only small appliances that you should have are a blender and a stand mixer if you do a lot of baking. Maybe a toaster and a rice maker. Everything else is just a waste of space.

if you make a fatty steak in an air fryer you can skip the oiling since the fat from the steak will do the work.

It's probably the best purchase I made. Put chicken inside cook for 10-14 mins 200C. No need to deal with pans or any grease.

I got one because my normal oven, convection, is just too big for my meals.
So definitely worth it if you make meals just for yourself.
If you have a non-convection oven, most definitely worth it.

Its lit i only use it to make fries at home but it works better than just putting them in the oven, dont really cook anything else with it tbh because i dont think its great for making like protein or anything like that. I think maybe an instant pot might be more up youre ally if you need a countertop appliance that can handle semi decent one meal cooking

It literally is just a small European style convection oven (with a separate heating element in front of the fan.) And despite the name - many ovens sold in the US nowadays are European style.
