No?
I use weightlifting shoes for squats and variations because the heel elevation makes it much comfier to go ATG.
For everything else, I want to be flat footed and similarly have little to no cushioning. So it's either socks or Chucks, Chucks come with a small very slightly elevated and elastic sole so they aren't perfect. You can take them out if you want to, however I am not autistic enough to sacrifice all comfort and versatility for that. They work great for OHP which is the most balance intensive lift I do, they are also great for benching.
Protip: If your gym has slippery floor, spray water on the sholes of your feet. Drag them back and forth until they are somewhat dry. Grip will go from 0 to 1000% for a while.
Yeah it was awful, I felt off balance. They also feel unnatural to walk around in.
Heel elevation for a strict press doesn't make sense biomechanically either if you think about it.
Explain to me how that isn’t disgustingly expensive for a very basic Canvas and rubber shoe? FYI, Nike absorbed Converse several years ago and outsourced it to China.
They used to be $40 and they aren't worth that since Nike bought the company and the quality plummeted. PF flyers are similar, but the quality is better. Vans are the better shoe for that money. They also make like a $90 pair of skate shoes which are goat and I wear them all the time.
Interesting, we didn't have that worldwide inflation here in the US when Trump was president... we have inflation in the US now because Biden is following globalist policies.
You can easily find Converse knock-offs for much less, probably made in the same Chinese factories. Just admit you want them for the logo and we can move on.
They're fine if you can get non-bootlegged ones for cheap. Otherwise the bootlegged ones eat shit and die after like a month, and $70 is too expensive for super basic shoes.
That said though, Olympic style shoes are better but more expensive.
Them Nike fuckers I can't recall the name of that have the 6mm wedge are pretty tits if you have obnoxiously long femur-itis, but they're not cheap and also they don't seem to typically manufacture over size 12.
No, socks are the best lifting shoe. Just enough fabric to keep the gym floor dirt off the soles of your feet. Otherwise just use cheapo walmart/amazon slip ons.
I use bare feet but Chuck's are what I would use of I was in a place requiring shoes. Unless you do tons of Olympic lifting, those people where special raised heel shoes.
These are great. They break really easily though, probably 8-12mo use and they get worn down. I get them directly from the mainland though for like 2 dollars a pop cuz my friend is clutch as fuck and works in Shenzhen half the year and comes back the other half. I have the original Feiyue and one or two hi-tops. The green triangle ones are sturdier.
These are really good if you're into foot binding. Place your foot on top of them and you can see how they will reshape your foot into the shape of a lady's high heel. If you aren't into reshaping your foot, they're still good because people will think you look cool.
I use them for bench and OHP. Diddly is barefoot, any squat variant is with Olympic shoes.
Literally just ordered a pair because I've been wearing Air Force 1s and someone said I should get these instead.
Had to wait for the black monochrome pair to be back in stock because I'm a ISTggot
They are alright.
I just wanted a relatively flat shoe to use on my upper body lifts, used to do everything but squats in socks.
>Needing to lift in anything other than basketball shorts and running shoes
Ngmi
>not going bare ass naked in your home gym
I squat in Crocs at home haha.
You should be using lifting shoes for any lift in which your feet are in contact with the floor.
No?

Have you ever tried pressing while wearing your lifting shoes? For me, the difference was huge.
Yeah it was awful, I felt off balance. They also feel unnatural to walk around in.

Literally clown shoes
ain't clown shoes if they're normal. Google The wise king and the poisoned well.
Only if you have big feet
Twink shoes
See? Case in point
I prefer Sneed's
Most zoomer thread I’ve seen in a while.
Most posts on IST now read like they were made by zoomers. IST is probably like 80% underage.
Too much of a fashion statement. For me it’s the frat cruisers or Nike lifting shoes
This. Chucks are currently grossly expensive due to TikTok gym bimbos and himbos wearing them. Might be a good time to buy Vans which last longer imo.
>65$
>grossly expensive
moron wat
Given they used to be $40 and they're just canvas, rubber, and glue yes.
Explain to me how that isn’t disgustingly expensive for a very basic Canvas and rubber shoe? FYI, Nike absorbed Converse several years ago and outsourced it to China.
they're not worth that price though
vans also got more expensive. it's $70 for the flimsy ass old skools

>how does worldwide inflation work
i have an inflation fetish
Hi, dumbfuck zoomers. You’re getting ripped off. Converse comes back around every decade or so.
>how does price gouging work
It's less than $2 worth of labor and material
>almost every shoe ever made
Very true. Remember that
Interesting, we didn't have that worldwide inflation here in the US when Trump was president... we have inflation in the US now because Biden is following globalist policies.
the money printer revved up when trump was in office
it does not matter who is president
how it works is that the garden gnomes plunder the goyim extra hard
Your mom inflated my cock last night if you catch my drift
you dumb? garden gnomes.
>shit on converse
>dont suggest alternative
>refuse to elaborate further
>leave

>>dont suggest alternative
Lidl shoes are tight
>not wearing PF Flyers
ISHYGDDT
I love chucks. Kind of annoying that everyone seems to wear them now, but whatever. I'm not changing
Look at these sexy fucking shoes.
Might have to crank one out.
>don't make the all blacks in a Wide
Most shit isn't made in 13.5, so I feel your pain.
Size 13 Vans fit me alright but generally I need a 12 Wide. Chucks are too damn long and pointy and they make me look like Sideshow Bob.
I wear a 10 wide for running shoes but 9.5 vans fit me just fine. Are you sure you need more width instead of length?
Yes they do?
I just ordered a wide pair of black monochrome last night.
2 coffees and the check please
I was wearing these before they were cool (10 years ago)
Now half the zoomers in the gym are wearing these exact ones
these are what I wear. pretty sure I can feel others mirin me for the shoes alone
i prefer sneeds

it's fucked how americans talk in brands when it comes to shoes
instead of shoe types
>implying Europeans aren’t slavishly devoted to Adidas/Puma
Come on now.
okay both americans and europeans are fucked when it comes to discussing shoes
where are my peeps who buy generics cheap shoes with random logos on?
Random chingchong brands are far too often of terrible quality. Decathlon cheapos are bretty good tho.
No, socks are the best lifting shoe. Just enough fabric to keep the gym floor dirt off the soles of your feet. Otherwise just use cheapo walmart/amazon slip ons.
I wear oly shoes most of the time so I can further height mog people
Based squats and oats enjoyer
They look very sturdy. I've been using cheap Reeboks but they feel a bit soft and unstable, maybe should've gone a size lower
No need to elaborate.
Any arch support in these bad boys?
>arch support
Point at him and laugh.
Unless you have a muscular build you'll look like a raging bottom. Just wear nike blazers instead. They look better and you wont look like a twink.
>Unless you have a muscular build you'll look like a raging bottom
wtf, placing my online order now
If you want lifting shoes just buy actual lifting shoes lmao
aren't these for girls?
I see way more girls wearing them than I do guys
thats why i wear em :3
*ahem*
My hfs are this exact colour pattern, made me do a double take
Chucks are acceptable if they look beaten up. They look awful clean and shiny
Yeah because it's obvious how cheap and ugly they look when they're clean. Upshot is, they go from new to beat up pretty fast.
out of the way gays
MOGGED
Those are mad gay. Remove the Sesame Street character and they’re acceptable.
MOGGED
My ohp is 60kg 3x3. I need tips. How do I repair my Chuck's?
You don't. It's a pos cheap shoe, which is why anons are complaining about the price
Not cheap anymore. A standard pair of Chuck Taylor high tops currently retail for $65 USD.
>everything costs more because of inflation
"guys converse cost more than they did before inflation so theyre bad"
Converse used to be reasonably cheap casual shoes but now they’ve come back into style with zoomers so the price has gone up.
Same shit with Vans
I use bare feet but Chuck's are what I would use of I was in a place requiring shoes. Unless you do tons of Olympic lifting, those people where special raised heel shoes.
*wear
I actually use Vans. All my other sneakers were dirty so i brought them to the gym once and it was the comfyest experience yet.
Get mogged buttholes
toes of a DYEL
>$18
>better build quality than converse
take the chinkshit pill
more like dafuk is this shit

they make them in wide sizes too, anon
Never understood how people wear these thin ass shoes. You need a wider toe box for optimal foot health.
not every human is built the same retard
imagine being too poor to afford chucks
They are objectively overpriced. You’re just admitting to buying them for the brand.
the easiest shoe to get bunions in
> bunions
are you 60 years old?
more like onions
I wear these. Even less cushioning than chucks and better flexibility dor calf raises.
You guys realize it's 2023 right? It's time to start dressing like it.
Biff?
autism shoes
Are the 70's more durable than the normal? If so, by about how much?
Any cool looking shoes for manlet bros?
yeah, platform boots you fucking twink
