You have to use them like any other weight. Like progressive overload, training to near failure, etc. Just squeezing a few out when you're not busy will do nothing.

I do a warm up with a plastic store gripper, then the Trainer, #1 and #1.5. Main routine currently is #2.5 negatives and #2 for reps until failure. I do around 7-8 reps with #2 around 5 sets, once I can not hold it together I go down a gripper and repeat.
I would be really careful doing low reps since it's a lot of stress on your ligaments. I once egogripped for 3 reps and had tendon pain for 2 months. Don't go lower than 5 reps.

That's pretty impressive, I am considering to buy 2.5 since I can close 2 now, but I think I will just keep training on 2 atm
Keep doing #2 until you get a good 8-10 reps on the first set, then you can start 2.5
Do you do anything for extensor muscles? They sell resistance bands to go with CoCs, do you recommend them or can I just get the grip trainer
