I usually do a working set of two plates and then 2 sets of 3 plates. I struggle with the pain/pressure it puts on my body where the bar path lies, though.

The bad part about hip thrusts is that you miss the big stretch under tension position. This can be complementary with lunges with elevated front foot, that will stretch the living shit out of your ass. You can also climb stairs skipping 1 step every time

hip thrusts are basically working all the same muscles as the squat minus the quads and hams. They're for your glutes, exclusively. You want a big ass, this is how it's done

Slow down the eccentric (downward) movement to about 5 seconds. Pause at the top and squeeze glutes. AMRAP.

ive never seen a girl do heavy hip thrusts at full ROM, they never go all the way to the top
