>synthetic fabrics
>brown "people"
Oh no no no nononono hahahaha
if you are worried about synthetic fabrics when there's Black folk around I got news for ya bud
Both based posts
they're great but the public sauna experience in the 'Kwa goes something like this
>blubbery mexicans come in and drown out polite conversation in beanspeak
>Black folk come in with headphones you can hear the music through
>joe rogan enthusiasts throw propylene glycol immersed estrogenic oil essences on the rocks (sometimes catches fire, entertaining)
>obese boomer putting vicks vapor rub, whatever else he found in his drug cabinet on the rocks, saying "it's good for you"
>fastman doing his circuit training cardio crunches on the bench
>every single last one of them performing chemical castration at best wearing polyester shorts, at worst covered from head to toe in plastic
I enjoy polite conversation, banter and so on. Good practice being stern in calling out people doing moronic shit, but, wish often I was in Europe instead, also being able to enjoy simple nudity
In the coming years I think there will be a private sauna boom because of how unenjoyable the public in America is. The worst part is that at the turn of the industrial revolution steam rooms and the like we're very common and they had similar etiquette as anywhere in Europe for the same or saunas. Women and minorities took this from us, killed this from us.
There used to be hot spring towns across the USA. Now they are too expensive costing 200$+ a night
It was necessary to keep the trash out
frick I wish we had a proper sauna/onsen culture in burgerland but people here are too autistic about nudity
one of the best parts about growing up in a finnish immigrant family is that my cabin has a sauna
people are always a little sketched out because of how gross public saunas are around here but once they try it once they are practically begging to come back
nothing like a good wood-burning sauna
My all time favorite was a zoomer walking into a mostly full sauna in his shorts and a t-shirt, taking out his phone and watching football with the sound on so we all got to hear it
This is why I spend $300 a month at Equinox
200 degree sauna and none of that shit
>except Joe Rogan enthusiast
Joining an equinox or Life Time Athletic is one of my life goals
I spend $260 a year for my recreation membership. Yes the sauna is the wild west, but it is also one of the few places you can ape out when people act like this, so it is enjoyable.
I go to life time. While the sauna is nice, it is locked at 170 degrees at all time which doesn’t make me sweat that much. The eucalyptus steam room is elite though. Sometimes in the sauna though you get that random gay that sounds like he’s dying and won’t stop rubbing his face making a disgusting plap plap noise. These people need to be culled.
Are people naked in the sauna in the US?
Nudity is strictly forbidden at my county's rec center sauna. I've never seen anyone other than myself wear a cotton towel.
Only the straight guys. The gay ones use the towel as a flirting tool/toy, kind of annoying if you don't swing that way.
someone told me that people go in their gym sauna fully clothed, shoes and all, after working out
only boomers and athletes go in nude (the only two based groups)
immigrants prefer the nude sauna, my dad used to apologize to people for me wearing swim trunks in the korean sauna
In many states if a kid sees your dick, you will be put on a list of sex offenders...
And there are a lot of chicks like the one in joe roagan's podcast for who naked people in sauna in finland was somethjng shocking.
I went to Italy for work and at the gym you were forced to go naked or they kicked you out. I didn't make a fuss but it was fricking weird to be forced naked. When in Rome and all that....
it's for cleanliness. it's strange how open europeans are about nudity and how scared of it americans are
This has that same vibe as the gif of a bunch of shirtless boys doing rowing motions on rowing machines in sync. Someone post it pls
>wide clavicles
next life I want some of that
Ah yes, the Ancient Greek Slave, my favorite workout technique.
Ramming speed.
Imagine the smell
I used a sauna for the first time yesterday, and I fricking loved it. It was the super shitty infrared sauna at my gym which didn't even go above 45C, but I spent over half an hour in there. It wasn't nearly hot enough for me, but I still managed to get a bit of sweat out.
I only have access to a steam room, is that any good? What does it do for you?
Its nice, but not comparable to a real sauna.
Boring as frick.
Not only are they wearing underwear like little insecure boys, but they are wearing synthetic fabric ffs. I'm glad that here in the Netherlands, most sauna's have a policy where it's not allowed to even take your flipflops into the sauna (because soft plastic release a lot of estrogenic chemicals into the air when exposed to heat).
yea you gotta make sure you can see their dicks. i can’t get a good sweat going unless i can see everyone naked.
also sauna does not get too high enough temperatures to worry about plastics in the air.
Did you never play sports?
its obvious most of IST didnt based on their fear of nudity
there’s a difference between being afraid of nudity and lamenting how your sauna experience is lacking because everyone isn’t naked. like homie take your balls out if you really feel the need to tf.
Wearing your sweaty gym clothes in the sauna is unhygienic.
Tried it in finland for the first time when I was there, felt like I was just sitting in an oven. Maybe I just need to use it more
It's best combined with jumping into a frozen lake.
Makes sense, confuses the muscles.
Built one on my property, it’s amazing, wouldn’t wanna live without it. If I had to use a public one I wouldn’t bother.
Redpill me on sauna construction. Having a backyard sauna sounds dope as frick.
Literally just build a typical shed shed, 8x12 is the easiest dimensions for the sake of materials, then put a wall in the middle, insulate hot room, foil vapor barrier, tongue and groove panelling, install woodstove and benches.
You can go smaller, but most cost will be the heater and t&g, so you probably wont save a ton.
There are a few books on sauna design, read one of those until you get an understanding of all the whys. There’s a guy from MN, dont remember his name, just google “saunatimes” and you’ll find him. He’s got a good ebook on how to do specific things that’s pretty helpful.
Most importantly, your feet should sit above the heater’s stones, so make sure it’s tall enough. Saunatimes guy recommends building it too short imo, but otherwise following his advice is pretty great. I think he also likes cedar inside but that’s because he’s a silly american, you don’t want to inhale all the nasty shit that makes cedar rot resistant.
I really appreciate the write-up, anon.
We tore out a spare bathroom and turned it into a sauna, wasn't super complicated.
Impressive. Very nice. Now let's see how much it cost to build.
Not OP but mine was about 2k for the building, 2k for the stove and chimney, another 1.5k for the T&G, probably could throw in another 750-1k in random shit I’m not thinking of.
This is in USD for a 8x12 ft building, a little over half is hot room. Built last yearish
That's not bad at all really. I want one so bad when I buy some land. Public saunas are awful.
How are they to maintain?
I didn't keep track super strictly but roughly $8k Canadian. Most expensive is the T&G and stove obviously. This was built inside of my garage where there was a pre-existing chimney. You can save money by using a wood other than cedar but the smell of the cedar is so nice.
Have a sauna at home. Might use it today or next week.
>not building your own sauna
ngmi
That's tight bro.
I hate saunas.
my gym put one in
been hitting it for 15-20m before warmups kino timez
though I lower my music when there's other guys in there
me on the right
homosexual americans, youre not supposed to be able to bring electronics into a sauna without damaging them. crank the fricking heat up
Tell that to ny IP69XXX class phone.
PS. Wearing sauna hat to protect broccoli hair permanent
>brown haired brown eyed dysgenic freaks
>Black person
>everyone has boxers on
this is in USA right
No, this is clearly giving off non-USA Anglo sphere vibes. The thing about the US is we don’t actually mix together that much. White people anyway, and they always look trashy if they do. Plus they’re neither muscular nor fat, something you’ll rarely see in a group in the US. Maybe it’s canada.
I love going into the sauna but I hate the other goobers that ruin the experience from time to time. People who:
>turn the sauna into a fricking HIIT zone (not the place for it)
>pant audibly like they're about to pass out
>play music too loud because they're either stupid or rude
>take up too much space (frick fat people)
Going in a sauna is like putting your balls in a sous vide. Its can't be good for them.
they don't get terribly hot if you're wearing a towel wrap. even then its just for 15-30 minutes a day max. worry more about electrostatic charge from polyester friction for the entire day
mine has rules about nudity so i go in my swim trunks
>wearing clothes in a sauna
Wtf is wrong with these people? The only cloth you have to wear in a sauna is a towel to sit on. Are they gay and thats why they are afraid of getting a boner or something?
