Are sit-ups, planks, and leg lifts alone enough to get abs? What else should I add to my routine if not?

The issue with ab exercises isn't finding some magical exercise, it's making sure you engage the right muscles. Sit ups for example are relatively complex - engage abs, tighten lower back, engage quads, engage front delt, it ends up being a lot to manage and a newbie can easily get confused.

Focus on one progression (eg leg lifts) and grind it out being conscious and staying on the 10-12 rep range. Leg lifts is probably the longest ab focused progression so that should be your focus.

no, abs are made primarily through diet. you need to have a low enough body fat that the muscle can actually be visible. ab exercises are for function core strength
