Are there any downsides to just going to the gym 7 days a week? I was gonna go 3 times a week, but I decided to just go full gym rat and go every single day.

it's possible but you need maximum recovery which the average modern man can't have.
    >Full body massage
    >Ice bath
    >Hot bath/sauna
    >8+ hours of sleep (with no sleep apnea)
    >perfect diet

Someone recommended one or two rest days. So could I do Monday-Friday and then rest on Saturday and Sunday?

    Are you on steroids?
If no, you are going to end up either injuring yourself or overtraining and losing all your gains

    push -> pull -> arms -> legs -> repeat
gives you enough time to recover between body parts, gives you separate arms day on PPL routine that allows you to not look end up with small arms like most people who do PPL do

10 minutes of medium pace after push/pull
30 minutes of faster pace after legs
20 minutes of medium pace stairmaster after legs

I did PPLPPxx for the last 14 weeks and my elbows are not pleased.

it's probably more tendon/joint issue than muscle recovery issue though, do your warm ups and supplement collagen

I've been neglecting both and it's definitely time to for me to stop being a moron.

You won’t have time to recover. I’ve always preferred 5 days splits. Previously I was doing lower upper cardio lower upper rest rest but I’ve since then switched to full body cardio full body cardio full body

If you've got the time and aren't likely to get burnt out going 7 days a week, I don't see why the hell not.

    Just sharing my experience. YMMV.
I’m about 4 weeks in working out 7 days a week. 3x lifting at the gym, 2x cardio + core work, 2x cardio only. 7-8h sleep avg, no alcohol or processed sugars, caloric deficit. Progress is reasonably good, but by end of week 3 I started feeling fatigued during the day and mental clarity dropping.

You need to gain more muscle to lose the fat. You have to gain weight to lose weight. Having more muscle will make jt easier to have a lower body fat percent.

Tried that in the past and failed because I'm a moron. This approach seems to be working, so I'll give it another 8-10 weeks or so to see what happens.

            Ah. Recomp fatigue then
Hows your nutrition overall? Would recommend fasting, juice cleanse, paleo to expedite the process
Lifes gonna suck while youre burning the toxins out of your fat stores. Just be up front with your loved ones when you catch yourself feeling angsty

I'd say nutrition is okay. Decent amount of protein (shakes, cottage cheese, eggs, meat), healthy carbs (lots of salad and veggies, virtually no rice/bread/potatoes), fruits (mostly berries, citrus fruit, apples, bananas), supplements (D, Zinc, Magnesium).
