Man I haven’t seen one of those things in years. I used to use on when I was a drummer to increase my forearm stamina. My drum teacher would hold a steady fast paced drum roll and I would have to match him for as long as possible until I my forearms were on fire and I couldn’t do it anymore. While I rested he would keep going the entire time and he could keep his drum roll going forever it seemed. Eventually he gave me one of these and I made substantial gains in endurance.
You're not going to get much out of the off the shelf sporting goods store grippers. You want to look into Captains of Crush, GHP, Heavy Grips, Cannon Power Works and such. The heavy shit.
I got some pretty similar ones that are in the OP image from Walmart yesterday and used them on the drive home and used them for about an hour while watching tv and I just felt like I was wasting my time. My fingers kinda hurt I guess?
people make a mistake in recommending wrist curls because they associate "flexing their wrist" with the literal wrist flexion but they ignore that they are also clenching their fist. flex your wrist with an open hand and you see nothing.
so yes these things will give you monster forearms at least in terms of the flexed circumference around the upper part near the elbow.
There are so many goddamned muscles in the forearm though that it's really hard to say how you should actually build them. I bet dips and muscle-ups would help a lot though
No
Yes, a full wrap grip is only a tiny subset of all the types of grip you can use, if you want to improve grip/finger strength start rock climbing.
Oh yeah. I can dead hang from a pullup bar longer than my rock climber friend but his fingers are stronger than mine
Yeah climbing hasn't made my bar grip stronger much. Your friend can hang /pullup on his fingertips better but full bar grip is different.
>not harnessing the power of centrifugal force
Okay grandpa.

Yeah they're pretty cool, sadly I have no hobbies so all it did for me was make jerking off feel better.
Do you know any models that are actually decent and will last a while? I've had a few $15 models and obviously they broke down after a few months.
It was useful for rehabilitating torn A2 pulley joint for me. for strenght gains, no
Definitive answer for all the newbies here: Yes, you are wasting your time and look moronic while doing so
