I make some small talk here and there that's about it. Maybe ask for some help with form or a spot. Everyone but the boomers are that way. They're pretty social.
Hell yeah. I have like 10 gym buddies I all met there and usually one or two of them are around when I train 🙂 all the >hurr durr gym is for work not play
is just friendless loser cope
I wouldn't mind if I can make some friends there, but I went AM, with limited time before work and I train with headphones. I also have friends outside, so it's just not a priority.
There is nothing left to say.
Everything that needed to be said has already been said.
Front desk girl said hi to me the other day and I contemplated for one second whether I should even bother responding, but I did say hi however she already went past me and didn't even hear me as my hello was so faint. I don't have anything to say to anybody anymore so why should I even bother with these formalities?
Yeah, i quite like it and have met some cool people, actually.
Making social gains and networking is all part of it, I feel.
Why would you not want to connect with people who, seemingly, have a good mindset and a similar interest as you?
I always ask people for help when i worry my form isn't good, or when u start doing a new exercise. Last time two dudes teached me how to bench and gave tips, and another guy gave tips for front lat raise form. I hope to make gym friends but for that i probably have to go at consistent times to see the same faces again.
i ended up becoming fishing buddies with a gym bro, and another guy we went mountain biking together. but really only a few instances of hanging out outside of the actual gym considering i've been lifting a decade.
just wanted to chime in and tell that having spent time in both EU and US I can confidently say its OK and easy to socialise in US gyms while in EU most people are really stern during their workouts or are extremely social dyels
US had gymbros who actually lift AND fool around, its either that or this in EU and not both
>guy keeps scanning his ID but door won't open >I've seen him around and I know he's a regular >has his hair always slicked back so we'll refer to him as Slick >let him in, thanks me, shows me his account is active all that >introduces himself, and whenever I see him we talk a bit about our routines for like 3 or so minutes and break off >talking to other regular at gym, bring up one of Slick's routines >he visibly gets slightly upset >"Oh, him?" >turns out Slick was a neo-nazi and went to regular meetings
oh.
Frens, there’s a new guy at the gym who has a zyzz sticker on his bottle that says we’re all gonna make it. How do I approach him? He’s in his early 30s, so he probably knows about this website
if by "social" you mean "do I eyefrick all of the loose zoomettes using the mirrored walls for 360 degree eyefricking," then.... yeah, I'm pretty social at the gym

I don't lift
Gym is for training
If you want to be social go to the pub
Kinda? I’m friends with the gym thot and she gives me advice and some of the bros invited me over for a BBQ back in June
But I stick to myself
sounds pretty based, gym bros bbq
Super chill dudes
Even the gym thot is nice. It’s a commercial gym but far away from the main city center and mainly locals
I enjoy my time there
maybe you can frick the thot, or better yet her friends. either way sounds comfy mate
I don't make eye contact with anyone and play bullet chess between sets.
>t. homegym
Hopefully 1/0 or youll exceed 2 Minutes for rest
Actually its 2|1 for heavy compounds and 1|0 for accessories. (I either blunder or win after 20 moves so it doesn't matter)
yup, friends with almost everyone, even the quiet ones.
for some of them, Im the only guy in the gym they ever talked to

Agree.

Haven't had a casual conversation with anyone in 6 years

Went to this gym for 10 years
Had maybe half a dozen convos. Tops.
Now i work out at home cuz frick everyone.

aren't most europoors stern to being with? this was my experience when i lived in Germany lol
I havent met a single soul who'd argue anywhere in EU is more social than US
burgers are the most joyful, fun and outgoing folk there is
its like a different breed. i think its the sun and the can-do attitude instead of complaining, kek.
Not my experience at all. German gyms are very comfy and social
This one guy found a pair of keys and asked me if they were mine
I told him no
did i make it yet?
>guy keeps scanning his ID but door won't open

Slick seems like a cool guy, anon.

call him a sick c**t and see how he responds
Drop code words when you walk by him. Like “Black person homosexual dyel haha jk wagmi do you tren hard and can you share your sterons with me?”
Pro tip: we don’t like it when you talk to us, we’re just being polite
if by "social" you mean "do I eyefrick all of the loose zoomettes using the mirrored walls for 360 degree eyefricking," then.... yeah, I'm pretty social at the gym
No, I never speak to anyone. The only thing I will ever say is "Are you using this?" I just put in my earbuds and ignore everyone.
the other day some college guys talked to me in the sauna
